GOD GIVES THE BEST

I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of  Matthew 7:11 says,  “If ye then being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven, give good things to them that ask of Him?

From the above context we understand that as parents we give our children what is good. We give the best to our children. We love our children so much, that we give them that which is good. We search for it in the shops or market and get them because we wish to satisfy their needs. We are eager to fulfil their desire. We never would postpone their request for a long period. When we as parents wish to fulfil the desire of our children,  how much more will our Heavenly Father, long to fulfil the desire of those who ask Him. Mankind in general are conceived in sin. Most of them are evil in their thoughts and actions. The Bible says, even such people know how to give good gifts to their children. They give their best to their children though it costs them much. In spite of their difficulty they try to meet the need of their children.

When parents can afford to give good gifts to their children, how much more will the Heavenly Father, who is omniscient, and omnipotent, who knows the needs of His children give, what is good and proper for them. David in his psalms says, God satisfies the hungry soul and satisfies your mouth with good things.  The Bible says, God gives all good things, to them that ask Him. All good things refer to both material and spiritual blessings. He will provide you with a good job. Only if you have a good job, with a good salary can you meet all your expenditure. So he blesses you with a job, then a family, then children. He grants you a good house to stay and then he expands the borders of your territory either at your work spot or your business. Gradually but surely God blesses those that depend upon Him. He will neither leave them nor forsake them.

The Bible says, Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find “knock and the door shall be opened unto you.”All you got to do is to inquire of God all that you need and surely the Lord will grant you, your petition. God has richly   provided spiritual gifts through the Holy Spirit. These are the gift of wisdom, knowledge   and good understanding.  God not only provides temporal gifts such as meat, drink and clothing, but all spiritual gifts to know about God and His teachings. To understand who God is and what He expects of us are all spiritual gifts. When you desire to know more of Him then He will reveal the gifts of prophesy, to speak in tongues, and the gift of praying for others and the gift of healing others through your prayers.

We receive only when we ask God, what we need. God also expects us to ask Him when we are in need. He says, “Until now you have not asked anything in My Name. Ask and you will receive that your joy may be full. ”God further says, whatever you ask in MY name, This I will do that   the   Father may be glorified in the Son. Therefore if you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”We also need to believe that if we ask anything to God in prayer, we will definitely receive it. Having read this message, I pray that the Lord enable you to completely rely on Him for all your needs. David says in his psalms, “Lord to You all flesh will come, For You hear the prayer. Ask and you will receive. God bless you.

Prayer: Our Loving Heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank You because You hear our prayer. You hear the prayer of the destitute. Teach us to ask You in prayer what we need. We also thank You for all the gifts that You have bestowed upon us. Both spiritual and temporal.  In spite of our sinful nature  You consider us and guide us in the way we should go. Help us to understand your Power and Majesty. Thank  You for providing  the best for us,  more than our earthly father.

In Jesus Name we  pray.

Amen.

God can do everything

I greet and bless you in the name of our Creator, Maker, and ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has kept for you today is from the book of Job 42:2.  I know that You can do everything,  And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.”

From the above context we understand that  it took Job, some time to come to an understanding that he was indeed an ordinary man,  and that he had neither the cause nor the right to justify himself or to question the mighty hand of the omniscient and omnipotent God. For a time, all Job had was a shallow knowledge of God but after his encounter with the Lord, he was given a deeper and more intimated awareness of Who God truly is.  You must understand that God is able to do anything and everything, of what God has planned to do for you and for me. Even if the world stands against Him , He will do  that which He has planned to do for  His children. Nothing can hinder his plan. When one door closes He is able to open another new door, to accomplish what he has designed to perform.

Many of you are reading this message in order to be consoled or comforted, because you too have been going through some sort of difficulty in your life, like Job.  We read in the Bible that Job’s whole world had collapsed in one day and he became pitiably derided by his friends and the laughing stock of the neighbourhood and Job, in attempting to justify himself demanded of the Lord to know why – why should this happen to one such as he, who believed in God? Why should he suffer so, were his questions.  But after his encounter with the God of the universe, Job came to a realization that God knows all things and God can do anything and that God must be trusted, unquestioningly, to remain in charge of everything without interference or accusations from those, whose understanding of the deep things the Lord God, are so limited.

Job was indeed falsely accused by his friends – but the issue was not Job’s good name that was at stake but the honour of the Lord – for by falsely accusing Job these friends indirectly accused God. And finally, Job came to an understanding that God can do anything and has the right to do anything, challenging His authority,  and nothing that He plans is impossible, or can be hindered.  But to reach this level of understanding there had to come about a deep humbling of himself – a   self-examining of who he was before God.  The Bible says, the Son of God is revealed in us by the illumination by the Holy Spirit. This was the thrilling outcome of Job’s encounter with God and this is the lesson of faith and trust, that God desires for all His children to understand, that God can do anything, and God has the right to do whatsoever He will – and nothing that He plans, and purposes is impossible – for He alone is God.

May be you are in anguish and distress, as you must have lost one of your dear ones. It could be your mother, your father or your sibling. I  do not know under what circumstances you are reading this  message. But I tell you that you must believe that God can do everything and nothing can stop Him from doing what He Has purposed in his heart to do for you. Even Job’s wife couldn’t tolerate him suffering so she says, “Do you still hold to your integrity? Curse God and die.”But the Bible says, In all this, Job did not sin, nor charge God, with wrong. It is difficult to   go through affliction, but after you have gone through such a rough patch of life, then God will reveal His glory, provided you remain like Job, who never spoke against God in all his affliction. He lost His ten children, his wealth, his health, his cattle, everything and his body was covered with boils, he was scraping his skin with a shell. He sat among the ashes.  Yet in all this he did not murmur against God because he believed that God who took everything from him, is able to do everything. He is able to give him all that he had lost in his life.  God honoured his faith. God blessed the latter part of his life with a double portion of blessing. His friends ,  relatives and  his servants  respected him and brought gifts to him. God will exalt you too and magnify you in the midst of your neighbours, friends and relatives. This is a simple thing for God to do. Just Believe. God Bless you.

Prayer:   Our   loving    heavenly Father,   we    thank  You for this blessed day.  Father God, when  we look at the heavens and the wonderful works that You have made, what is man that You are mindful of us and yet You chose us, You chose us to be Your children.    Teach us to live in humble submission to the leading of Your Spirit, knowing that no good thing dwells within us –and help us to realize  that You can do all things  and nothing that You plan is  impossible,   or can be hindered by anyone.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

I will make you great

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,  I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Genesis 12:2,3. “I will make you a great nation. I will bless you. And make your name great. And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and I will curse him who curses  you. And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

From the above context we come to understand that God chose Abraham, and singled him out, from all his fellow men who were worshippers of idols that he might preserve the people for himself among whom, his true worship might be maintained. Abraham was tried by God Himself whether he loved God more than anything else more than all the people. And He proved righteous before God.

God called Abraham when he was alone and said, to him, “I will make of thee a great nation”. Secondly, God said,   “ I will bless thee.”  Thirdly God said, “I will make thy name great”. Fourthly God said, “Thou shall be a blessing”.

God looked at Abraham and spoke these words to him. And He did what he spoke. Today if God is speaking to you these words then He will surely fulfil His words in your life also. Even when he had no children God looked at him and said, “I will make you a great nation.” And Abraham was too old, when God promised him.  When there was no opportunity for him to beget a child, God spoke to him. Similarly God is able to perform a supernatural miracle for you also. Even his wife Sarah was too old and she was not able to beget a child. But the Lord spoke to Abraham about Sarah saying, “I will bless her and also give you a son, by her, then I will bless her and she shall be a mother of nations. Kings of people shall be from her.”

God not only blessed Abraham but also blessed his wife Sarah. “   Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name, Isaac.” I shall establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant.”God further said, Is anything too hard for the Lord to do? My covenant I will establish with Isaac whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year. And just as God had said, Sarah gave birth to a son, in her old age   and called him Isaac.

Our God is one who opens opportunity where there is no room for any opportunity. You might think there is no chance for you   to have a child. Some will even advise you to adopt a child. People around us are there to counsel,  us in the worldly manner,  but Jesus says, “I will make your name great.” Not only will He make your name great by giving you a child, but also make you a wealthy person and make your name great.

May be today you are caught up in some kind of sickness or you are going through huge debts, and it is causing great damage to you. God wants to put an end to all adversity in your life and start blessing you. He wants to make your name great before those who troubled you or those who put you to shame. To   obtain   God’s   blessing   you need to get rid of all the curse that has fallen upon you either because of your own sin or because of your ancestral    disobedience to God. If you will turn back to God from your fallen state of life then God  will  again  rejuvenate and rebuild your life. And you shall receive the blessing of God. God will bring an end to all your shame and humiliation. He will remove your sickness away from you. He will make your name great before others. He will change your sorrow into joy and wipe away your tears.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank You for keeping the promises   which you have given to us.  Help us to turn back to You   and confess   our mistakes. Remove all our sinful qualities and make us more like You. Teach us to be obedient like Abraham and give us another opportunity to live a clean and perfect life before God.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

The Blessings of Obedience!

My dearly beloved in Christ, I greet and bless you in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Are you obedient to your parents and family members? Our Lord Jesus Christ obeyed His parents in everything (Luke 2:51). When you obey God’s word in everything, He is mighty to bring about marvellous miracles in your life. In case you have been disobedient, God’s wrath will come upon you (Ephesians 5:6). When Apostle Paul writes about obedience, he says: “submitting to one another in the fear of God.” (Ephesians 5:21).
When we obey His word, He changes adverse circumstances in our favour, Perhaps all the circumstances in your life are unfavourable and against your progress. But when you obey God’s word and submit yourselves to Him, He is mighty to change the hostile situations in your favour! (Mark 10:27).
We read in the Bible about the grim state of Jacob’s plight. Laban tortured Jacob. But since God was with Jacob, he became exceedingly prosperous (Genesis 30:43). The Bible says:
“ he deceived me and changed my wages ten times, but God did not allow him to hurt me.” (Genesis 31:7).
Even though Laban put Jacob through many calamities and catastrophes, God did not allow Laban to crush Jacob because He was with Jacob. When Laban intended to destroy Jacob, God appeared to him in a dream and warned Laban to leave Jacob alone (Genesis 31:24). With a grateful heart Jacob says:
“I am unworthy of all the kindness and faithfulness You have shown Your servant. I had only my staff when I crossed this Jordan, but now I have become two camps.” (Genesis 32:10).
Jacob was victorious because of his obedience to God’s word. Young man/woman reading this Mangala Vaarthai, are the circumstances in your life unfavourable? Hold tightly to this Lord! He will change the adverse situations in your favour! Do not be worried!

Secondly, When you obey God’s word, He will do wonders and miracles in our life. The first miracle that Jesus did in the Bible was at the marriage at Cana where he turned water into wine (John 2:1-11). As soon as Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water” they immediately filled them to the brim. And when Jesus instructed them, “Now draw some out and serve it”, they instantly complied knowing quite well that it was still water. As a result, they were able to witness that the wine was the best wine served. Since they obeyed God’s word, they witnessed this miracle.
My dearly beloved young brother and sister when you continually obey God’s word, He will do wonders in your life! For He is a God of miracles! (Luke 1:37). Do not be worried!

Thirdly, When we obey His word, we receive His protection. When we read about Daniel in the Bible, we see how the high officials and the satraps were looking for some pretext to condemn him. But they could not find any fault with him. So, they established an ordinance, that whoever makes petition to any God or man for thirty days, except to the king, shall be cast into the den of lions. The Bible says: “Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open win his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.” (Daniel 6:10).
Because they threw Daniel in the lion’s den with a wrong motive, God sent His angel, and shut the lions’ mouths (Daniel 6:22). God gave Daniel complete protection. When you depend on God like Daniel, He will do mighty miracles for you!
My dear children of God are you lamenting like this – “When will the problems of my youth end? When will I be healed of my sickness? When will I find success in the exams? There is darkness all around me!” When you make a commitment to obey the Lord’s word, He will gladden you with countless miracles! He will clearly show you the way you should go! So be bold!

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Father, I implore you to be with my children as you were with Jacob and Daniel in the Bible. Help them to be obedient to you and others. Make all the things favourable to them. I believe that You can turn any circumstance in their favour. Guide them to live a life of obedience to You.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.

God Honours His Children

My dear Brother   and sister   in Christ,   I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given you for today is from the book of   Job 1:1 “There was a man in the land   of   Uz,   whose name was Job and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and Shunned evil. ”

My Dear Brother and Sister, We read in the Bible that Job was a good man who feared the Lord and turned away from evil. We also  come to know that  he was a wealthy,  highly esteemed by all and  a  man of prayer  with ten  adult children.  His   reverence for the Lord is a distinctive feature, which identified Job as someone with a  spirit of God and who had the desire for godly understanding.   “For the fear of the Lord  is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One gives understanding”.

My Dear Brother and Sister,  But  we see that  God allowed Job to be tested. So he  was severely tested by Satan.  His friend’s believed that God’s blessing exclusively fell on the righteous while His punishment only touched wicked men. His dialogue with his friends  exposes this misconception. Because  “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes from the Father of lights, Who never changes”, “for the Lord causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and He sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous”.  We   see  that  Job  underwent immense sufferings.  But   his   faith   in   God’s   word  honours His name.

My  Dear Brother and Sister,  Job’s sufferings and the way he faces the  problems, provides us with an understanding of how God  relates  to  man and His long-suffering kindness towards us. It helps us to understand, what the Lord desires from His people and   the benefits of suffering in our lives,   even   when God’s actions seem to contradict His character. The sufferings of Job,  helps  to answer the question – ‘why do bad things happen to good people? Why do God’s servants have to suffer when the ungodly seem to have a problem-free existence?

My Dear Brother And   Sister,  God is always good, and evil is always the  result of sin.  God is the Creator  of   all  that  is good and wholesome, and  it  is  God’s sovereign right to bless whosoever He chooses.  And although He promises to bless those who trust Him, He does not promise that evil will never  befall  them.  For God will   turn evil  to  good for those that love Him.   The   Lord’s  reply   to  Job  did  not  answer  his  many  questions, but it demonstrates God’s omniscience. His goodness and grace; His forbearance and mercy ; His  wisdom and strength –  His kindness and His favour towards His servant. Let us not only consider the sufferings of Job who was blameless, upright, feared God and eschewed evil, but let us also rejoice in the immeasurable grace of God – His never-ending goodness;   His long-suffering mercy,   His perfect justice and His everlasting righteousness.

My Dear Brother and Sister,   many of  you,  who  are   reading this message, may  be   going through  trials  and   tribulation  like  Job.  You might have lost your loved  ones.  Some of you might have lost your jobs. Some might be suffering from severe   disease.  You might have incurred great loss in your business.  Whatever might be your problem, if you remain like Job, God will bless you and keep you. Look at Job,   though he was righteous God tested his faith.  He proved to be a true man of God. The Bible says, In spite of all the affliction   Job never committed sin by his lips. May  God help you to be honest, faithful and blameless   before  God. Since Job feared the Lord, he was blessed with double portion of blessing. You too will be blessed   with double portion of blessing,  if you look to God in prayer and remain faithful to him.

Prayer:  Our  loving  heavenly Father,  we thank  You for this blessed day.  Father, we bless and thank You for the many lessons we learn from the life of Job. We have misrepresented Your grace and favour toward mankind, through our own lack of understanding and limited  perception. Thank You for Your goodness and grace;   Your forbearance and   mercy;  Your wisdom and strength and Your kindness and favour toward us all. Thank You for not giving us what we deserve but instead,  has  given  us what we do not deserve.  Help us to come to a deeper knowledge and understanding of  Who You are and  help  us  to live  our life in a way that honours You.

In Jesus’ name we pray,

AMEN.
