My dearly beloved in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of 2 Chronicles 7:14“ If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
From the above context, we learn that God has risen in the midst of His people to shower His richest blessing. God says, “ If My people who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face then I will bring healing to their land”. After Solomon dedicated the temple, the Lord appeared to him and gave him some warnings and reassurances. “The Lord appeared to him at night and said: ‘I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.’ When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land”. In the past, we have seen how the people of Israel often backslid and engaged themselves in wicked ways. God would be angry with them and He would punish them and from time to time, God would send judgment upon the land in the form of drought, locusts, or pestilence.
God warned king Solomon, He said, “But if you turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you then I will uproot Israel from my land, and I will reject this temple also. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples. This temple will become a heap of rubble, all who pass by will be appalled and say, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’ People will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, that is why He brought all this disaster on them’”. Solomon recognized this warning as a reiteration of God, who made a covenant with Israel and promised to take care of them and cause them to prosper as long as they obeyed Him. He also promised to bring curses upon them if they failed to obey and if they disobey, they will be judged.
The judgment is meant to bring Israel to repentance, and God assures Solomon that, if they will be humble, pray, and repent, then God will deliver them from judgment. This is a promise not only to ancient Israel but also to us who are called the children of God, that if we will repent and return to the Lord, He will rescue us from all our problems. Those who call upon His name and humble themselves, pray, seek God’s face, and repent, then God will heal their land, there will be moral and political healing as well as economic healing. May the Lord help you to fear God and obey His commandments, for then you will receive the shower of blessing and the Lord will heal your land. God Bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Dear Lord, we thank you for speaking to Solomon and telling him how the people ought to be. If the people will obey the commandment of God then they will be blessed. But if they disobey then they will be judged. Help us also to obey Your word and walk in Your ways. Teach us to humble ourselves, pray, seek Your face, and repent, so that You will heal our land.
In Jesus Name We Pray.
Amen.
I greet and bless you in the name of our Creator, Maker, and ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of Isaiah 40:29, ”He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.”
From the above context we learn that God gives power to those who are very weak and increases the strength of those who have no might. Weakness is a special weapon that the devil uses to spoil the lives of the children of God. Weakness is a tool which the devil instils in the lives of the children of God, that they do not advance in their life, and therefore they cannot be victorious too. When a man becomes weak he cannot work properly and neither can he concentrate on anything in particular. He falls into depression. His heart is pushed towards weakness; He loses his health and even his trust on himself. As a result he becomes sick that leads to severe disease. He loses all his sleep. The Lord wants to strengthen those of you who are weak and heavy laden. God wants to give strength to all those who are weak.
The strength of a person is not in the body but in the heart of a person. When the heart grows weary then the person does not feel like eating or drinking. He is engrossed in his worries, so he is not able to enjoy anything around him. He doesn’t even feel like talking to someone. Weakness cripples a man from all his activities. The organs in his body fail to cooperate with him. They will not be able to do anything. In some families they would have lost their dear one in their family, as a result they would be filled with sorrow. Relatives might comfort them and ask them to eat and drink something so as to keep their body healthy. But they wouldn’t listen to them because of the sorrow they go through. They will not have an appetite to eat anything. Instead they would cry out their sorrows. They would think as to, what is the next step they have to take. Or how will they be able to bring up their children, having lost their husband. These are the fears that would keep troubling them at that particular time. Worries will encroach their mind, and they will think of the struggles they would have to go through in the future. That is the time when they will lose their faith in God. But children of God should be careful during such times. They should not shift their faith on anything else but the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says, Cast all your burden upon the Lord Jesus Christ, And He will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.
God says that He gives power to those who are very weak and increases the strength to those who have no might. He refers to the spiritual weakness of the person. The Lord not only wants to stabilize the physical weakness of your body but also wants to stabilize the weakness of your spiritual life. Once a spiritual life of a person, becomes weak, then his prayer life gets hindered. They will not be able to pray properly. They will not like to meet others or speak with others. They will look as if they have been shattered in life and have no interest in anything whatsoever. Today Jesus is going to give strength, to such depressed and sorrowful people. God will give you strength to regain stability in life. That they may focus on their future, and carry on their regular or routine chores In life. How will God strengthen them? He will make some alternative for the thing that they have lost in their life and, make them joyful in life. We read about Isaac. He was the son of Abraham. He was born when Abraham was 100 years old. He was thus the son of his old age. His mother was fond of him. He too loved her much. But she died and she did not see the marriage of her son. Isaac was filled with grief. He couldn’t bear the loss of his mother Sarah.
Abraham was worried about his son Isaac. He sent his servant Eliezar to his own people to select a bride for his son. But Isaac went to the fields to meditate on the word of God during the evening time. He remembered the past memories of his mother and was kindled with grief all the more. On one such evening he saw camels coming towards his tent. Eliezer had found a beautiful bride for him and she mounted from the camel, on seeing Isaac. Isaac was filled with great joy. The Bible says,”And Isaac went out to meditate in the field in the evening; and he lifted his eyes and looked, and there, the camels were coming. Then Rebekah lifted her eyes, and when she saw Isaac she dismounted from her camel; for she had said to the servant, “Who is this man walking in the field to meet us?” The servant said, “It is my master.” So she took a veil and covered herself. And the servant told Isaac all the things that he had done. Then Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent; and he took Rebekah and she became his wife, and he loved her. So Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death. God substituted Rebekah in the place of Sarah his mother. God will do the same for you also. God will grant you, peace and joy in your life when you meditate on the word of God as Isaac meditated every day in the evening, to forget his sorrow. God will change your sorrow into joy. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank You for giving power to the weak and increasing the strength of those who have no might. Help us not to become weak physically or spiritually. May we be strong and sturdy in life so that we may not fall in depression or give up our prayer life. Teach us to be healthy in mind and body even when we go through hard times. Give us strength to overcome all the difficulties that we face in our day to day life. Grant us peace and joy.
In Jesus Name We Pray.
Amen.
My dearly Beloved in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of Matthew 24:45, “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?“
From the above context we learn that the master, usually appoints the faithful and wise servant to take charge of all things in his household, so that he might provide food for them at the proper time. Christians must be faithful and wise in all that they undertake. We are to faithfully carry out the good work that God has given us to do. It might be your job or business or your ministry. There are however two types of people : the spiritual type and those that are worldly. The spiritual person, is here identified as a wise and faithful servant. The faithful servant obediently carries out the instructions of their Master. Similarly, let us faithfully heed the instructions of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and obediently carry out our duties for His glory, knowing that such a servant will receive a wonderful reward.
While talking about a faithful servant I wish to relate an incident that took place in my own life many years ago. A brother by name Rajendran was our neighbour in Kanyakumari. He wanted to purchase a car so he enquired the church pastor in our town as to where he could purchase a good car for his budget. Immediately the pastor referred my name , as I was doing car business then in Chennai. Those days my business was flourishing in chennai. The pastor told Mr Rajendran that there is a young man very honest and faithful in his business. If we approach him he himself will do all necessary things and we shall be able to buy the car from his company “Stephen Cars.”So they came to my office.
Mr Rajendran did not know that I was the proprietor of the Stephen Cars Company. While negotiation was going on, suddenly he saw my mother coming out from our house. He rushed up to her and asked her, “How is it that you are here, have you also come to buy a car ? ” Then my mother told him, “The owner of this company is none other than my son Stephen.”Mr Rajendran was shocked , he thought that Stephen was someone else. He couldn’t believe his eyes, because he had seen us in Kanyakunmari as a poverty stricken family. He then asked me a good question, “Who was your back up? Which Sait, Marwadi or business magnate helped you in your business?” I told him, “My Back Up was JESUS”. Yes my dear children , when we remain faithful in little things then God will make us ruler over many things. This happened in my own life. God exalts those that humble themselves before God. May the Lord help you to be faithful in little things. God Bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Dear Lord, We pray that we may faithfully fulfil all the work that You have called us to do in a cheerful way. Help us to be honest and faithful in little things and not be careless about our work. Be our backup Lord in our lives. We cannot trust anyone, not even our own people they often forsake us and betray us. So help us to stand tall before them. Guard and protect us.
In Jesus Name We Pray.
Amen.
Dearly Beloved in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of Daniel 10:19 , “And he said, ‘O man greatly beloved, fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage.’ And as he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, ‘Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”
From the above context we learn that the angel Gabriel spoke to Daniel addressing him as “Greatly Beloved.” Peace be unto thee; all prosperity of body and soul; inward peace of mind, a freedom from all hurry of thought, and commotion of the passions, and eternal peace and joy in the world to come: The Angel told Daniel not to fear, as He is the Beloved of the Lord. Not to fear men or devils. The Angel encouraged Daniel in his times of trial to be strong, “; Yea, be strong; take heart, pull up the spirits, be of good courage, be strong in the Lord, and in his grace, and fear nothing: “ and Daniel says, “ When the Angel had spoken unto me, I was strengthened: divine power going along with his word; the prophet found his bodily strength renewed, his spirits revived, his heart cheerful, and his soul comforted, and all fear and dread removed from him; which was owing to the energy of divine grace; for otherwise not only men, but angels too, would speak in vain:
Daniel, having been strengthened, by the Angel, asked Him to continue speaking. for the Angel had strengthened him. Daniel was able to bear the sight of Him, support in his presence, and hear his words, and take in what He said, which before he was unfit for; so an Angel may be an instrument of strengthening a saint, a prophet, and even our Lord Jesus Christ himself as man. So today, I pray earnestly that an Angel would comfort you as He had comforted Daniel. Dear children of God, there are many names given to our Lord Jesus Christ. “Many years ago before the birth of Jesus, Prophet Isaiah had mentioned several names in his book. And one of them was “Prince Of Peace.”That Prince of peace has come down directly to give you His peace. The Psalmist says, The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace. So you shall receive double blessing today. Both strength and peace.
In whichever area you have lost your peace due to financial crisis, or lack of securing a good job, or because of marital problem or because your wife has deserted you, or maybe you are suffering from some kind of disease, or maybe you are caught up in huge debts and wondering as to how you could come out of it, God is looking at you and saying He will perform a miracle for you in the area where you lost your peace. God will establish peace into your heart. The Lord Jesus Christ, before his death called all His disciples and told them not to be perturbed because of His death on the cross, but that they should remain in peace. He admonished them not to fret and fear. He said to them, “Peace I leave with you, My peace, I give unto you: not as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” God is assuring the same peace to you also. So be cheerful. God Bless You.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Dear Lord, we thank you for sending the angel Gabriel, to comfort Daniel during his trial period. Thank You Father, for strengthening him through the angel. We also suffer from want of peace. Please send your angels and comfort us through You word. Strengthen us and bless us with peace, that we may live a happy and content life.
In Jesus Name We Pray.
Amen.
My dearly beloved in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of Matthew 25:21, “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
From the above context we learn about being faithful in few things. If you are faithful in few things then God will make you in charge of many things. God is looking at you this morning and saying, you have been faithful in few things. So I will put you in charge of many things. May be some of you are saying, “I have very little. What can I do with the little I have. ” The Lord is going to make an increase in your life. This message as such has come to confirm God’s Blessings upon you, in this New Year. Although you have very little with you the one who is within you, is much greater. And He does great things in your life. It is said that one can identify who you are, by the friends you hold. Or what sort of books you read. If you are in Christ then people will identify you as a child of God.
While making a covenant with Moses the Lord told him that people will see the works of God through him. He said, “The people with whom you live will see how awesome is the work that I, the Lord will do, in the midst of you. “God used ordinary and stammering Moses to perform mighty works among the people of Egypt and Israel. Moses struck the rock and water gushed out from the rock. The Red Sea was split in two by his rod. When he struck the rock water sprang forth. When the people asked for meat God sent a wind in the lower parts of the sea, and caused many number of quails on the shores of the sea. Thus Moses performed mighty miracles and wonders in the midst of the people of Israel, and it was said that there would not be another prophet like Moses after him.
Moses had just a rod or staff in his hand, with which the great and awesome God used him to perform many great miracles. Moses had very little in his hand but the Lord who was with him caused him to do a great many things. God was his back up or support. In the same way to those of you who have very little with you, God will be your back up and help you achieve great things in your life. God will do unimaginable things for you. All you need to exercise is your strong faith in God. Don’t trust man or expect help from unworthy people. Some will say he became great because of this person or that person. He gained name and fame, because of my friend, or my uncle, or my cousin who is abroad. But in future God says, He will be your strong support. He will be your backup. So put your trust in the Lord. For the Bible says, “They who put their trust in the Lord shall prosper.” God Bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Dear Lord, we thank You for telling us that you will be our backup. As you were with Moses an ordinary, stammering man, and performed many miracles, please be with us also and help us to see and achieve great things in our lives. May others see the work of God in our lives.
In Jesus Name We Pray.
Amen.
