SIGNS & WONDERS

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,  I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Deuteronomy 26:8 , “So the Lord brought us out of Egypt, with a mighty hand and with an outstretched  arm, with great terror, and with signs and wonders.”

My  Dear Brothers and Sisters,  From the above context we understand that our God  performed great signs and wonders in the wilderness in order to bring the people of Israel from the land of Egypt. God performed marvellous things in the sight of their fathers.  In the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan. He divided the Red sea, and caused them to pass through. And He made the waters stand up like a heap. In the daytime, he led them with a cloud. All the  night with a light of fire. He split the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink in abundance like the depths.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, He also brought streams out of the rocks and made the waters to run down like rivers. He commanded the clouds above and opened the doors of heaven. And rained down manna, for the people to eat. Thus men ate angel’s food. He also rained meat on them like the dust. Feathered fowl like the sand of the dust. Thus God performed many signs and wonders among them. He sent darkness and made it dark. He turned their waters into blood and killed their fish. Their land abounded with frogs. Even in the chambers  of their kings,  he spoke and there came swarms of flies. And lice in all their territory. He gave them hail for rains   and flaming fire. He spoke and locusts came and ate up all the vegetation.  He also destroyed all the firstborn in their land.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,  People in Egypt did not understand God’s wonders. They did not remember the multitude of God’s mercies. Yet God saved them for His name sake. That He might make His mighty power known. He rebuked the Red Sea, also and it dried up. So He led them through the depths as through the wilderness. He saved them from the hands of those who hated them. Thus God led them by the right hand of Moses, with a mighty hand and with an out stretched “arm, with great terror, and with signs and wonder.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, God can perform wonders in your life too. He will go before you and break the barriers that   stand as a blockade in showering His blessings upon you. He will make all crooked places straight and level all the mountains. He will break the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. He will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth. And feed you with the heritage of Jacob. He will fulfil the desires of your heart. He will settle you with a good job, a career, a business or grant you Visa to settle abroad. There is nothing that God cannot do for you. All things are possible to them that believe in His name. So cheer up, commit your ways unto the Lord. Trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass.

Prayer:  Our  loving  heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day.  We thank you Lord for performing many signs and wonders through which You revealed your power and glory. We realize that You are great, for You do wonders beyond numbers. Lord perform wonders in our life too,   so that all people will know that we belong to you.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

The Deliverer

My Dear Brothers and Sisters greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book  of  Numbers 12:3, “ Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.”

My dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we come to know the character of Moses. God testified that Moses was the meekest man found on the face of the earth. He was raised as the heir to the throne of Egypt. Though Moses grew in the house of Pharaoh but when he became of age, he refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, and chose rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin. Moses’ parents were from the tribe of Levi, called the Hebrews. The Hebrews had been in Egypt for generations but gradually they became a threat to the people of Egyptians. So Pharaoh had enslaved them. When Moses was 25 years of age, he went about inspecting his people. There he saw the oppressive measures under which they were laboured. When he found an Egyptian taskmaster, beating a Hebrew probably to death he couldn’t control himself any longer, so when he made sure that he was not in sight he killed the tough Egyptian lord.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,  Moses was probably in excellent physical condition, and he knew the latest method of combat. Next time he found two Hebrews fighting. He tried to mediate their disagreement. But questions by the Hebrew men jolted him. The confidence of the deliverer turned into fear. He knew that soon Pharaoh would come to know of his action. Therefore he fled to Median. There he stayed on with Jethro, and eventually married his daughter  Zipporah. While he was tending his sheep he saw a burning bush and it was here that he had an encounter with Yahweh, the God of Abraham,  Isaac,  and Jacob. Even though he had been so zealous in the past to help his own people,   now when he was called by God to deliver the people of Israel, he was reluctant to accept Yahweh’s call. He hesitated to accept his call because he was a stammerer. God promised to help him in his mission. God appointed his brother to be his spokesperson.  Therefore he obeyed God in bringing out the people of Israel to the Promised Land “Canaan” to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Moses spent nearly 40 years in Pharaoh’s house. He learnt every form of art in combat and proved to be an expert ready to inherit the throne. But later he fled to Median and spent another 40 years, tending his uncle Jethro’s  sheep. God was all the time preparing him for a greater task. God changed him from a tough man to a mild and meek person such that he could lead a stiff-necked nation out of Egypt to the land of Canaan. God looked upon the lowly and downtrodden state of the people of Israel His chosen people and delivered them.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,  God  watches over you day in and day out. God thinks upon you even though you are poor and needy.  The Lord lifts up the humble and downtrodden. He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap to seat him among princes. God will raise you up and glorify you as He chose Moses and caused him to perform a greater task for God. He was a great prophet who led the people of Israel through the desert into the land of Canaan. God will lead you also and guide you if you will obey his call.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank  You for this blessed day. Lord we thank you for choosing Moses the stammerer to deliver the people of Israel. Not only You chose him but also moulded him for Your good purpose.  Lord mould us also that we may carry out Your task diligently. Help us to be bold and   courageous to face the enemy who  come against us. Teach us to be meek and mild in our nature. May we obey Your call and accomplish Your plan and purpose in our life.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

The Call of God

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,  I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Romans  8:30, “Moreover whom He predestined these He also called, Whom He called; these He also justified,  and whom He justified these He also glorified.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we understand that every providence tends to the spiritual good, of those that love God.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, God has a plan and purpose for every individual. Whom God did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be the image of His son Jesus Christ. God determined to recover some by regeneration, and by the power of His grace. He predestinated them in this life, that they be renewed and walk in His steps. And those whom   He predestined for His good purpose, He also called them. It is an effectual call, from self, from the things of this world, to God,  to Christ and Heaven.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Those whom He called He also justified.  And those whom He justified He also glorified.  Through effectual calling He broke the power of corruption, and through justification God removed the guilt of sin, in them. Thus nothing can come between that soul and glory.

My dear Brothers and Sisters, This encourages our faith and hope, for, as for God, His way, His work is perfect. The Apostle Paul, speaks as one being amazed and immersed in admiration, wondering at the height and depth and length and breadth, of the love of Christ. The more we learn about the unfailing love of God, the more we are affected by the mysteries of God. While God is for us, and we keep in His love, we can boldly defy all the powers of darkness.

My Dear brothers and Sisters, Today God is calling you for His good purpose. Are you willing to obey His call? And walk by faith like Abraham, and work for His glory. For the Bible says, we are His work man ship created in Christ Jesus, unto good works. Which God has prepared ahead of time for us to do. For God says, Let your light so shine before men  so that they may see your good works and give glory to your father, who is in heaven.

Prayer: Our loving Heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank you Lord for calling us   with a holy calling. May we learn of your love, and grow closer to you. Teach us to obey your call and walk by faith each day of our life. Help us to understand your teachings and keep ourselves away from the powers of darkness.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

God’s promises are true

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,  I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of  Deuteronomy 26:7 “Then we cried out to the Lord, God of our Fathers, And the Lord looked on our affliction and our  oppression.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,   from the above context we understand that our God keeps His promise.  He hears us when we cry out to Him and looks upon our affliction and our oppression. When God has made good His promises to us, He expects that we should own it to the honour of His faithfulness. And our hearts are filled with joy, when we see them flowing from the fountain of promise. The nation Israel, sojourned in Egypt, as strangers, they served there as slaves. They were a poor, despised oppressed people in Egypt. And though they became rich and great  during the course of time, they had no reason to be proud, secure or forgetful of God.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, The work that the Egyptians, forced on the Israelites, was  evil  in motive and cruel in nature. As a result Israelites languished in “misery” and “suffering”. They trudged through the great wilderness for forty years. The Lord had seen the oppression of His people, who were in Egypt, and had heard their cry because of their task masters. He knew their sorrows. Therefore God had promised to deliver them from the hands of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land, to a good and large land,   to a land flowing with milk and honey.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,   Then the Israelites cried out to the Lord God of our Fathers, and He heard their cry and sent a deliverer to deliver them from the cruel hands of the Egyptians. Because Pharaoh refused  to set the Israelites free God  decided to punish him sending ten  plagues.  God caused ten plagues upon the land of Egypt, and thus demonstrated His power over Pharaoh and the gods of Egypt. The tenth plague struck Egypt, at midnight and all the first born in the land, died. There was a great cry  throughout the land of Egypt. Through this God made a difference between Egyptians and Israel.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Thus God of our fathers, kept His promise. His promises are true He never fails His children. He is the same yesterday,  today and forever.  He is looking at your affliction too.  And He wants to set you free, from your captivity. He will lead you from today and grant you a life flowing with milk and honey. A  life  of prosperity.  Satan  has  planned  to  destroy  you but the Lord has sent His angels to protect you.  Whether you are in the deepest sea, or in the midst of darkest night,  He is the only one who comes to your help the moment you call upon  Him.  The only person  on whom you can depend, is the Lord Jesus Christ.  The moment you  trust Him and  call upon Him he will immediately respond to your call  and stretch out His helping  hand. So cheer up.

Prayer:  Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank you for assuring   us with your promise that you will never leave us nor forsake us.  You   will   be with us always,  And that you will help us. Teach us to believe in the power of His mighty hand, and   His awesome  nature.  His marvellous signs and wonders.  May we learn to cry out to you, when we are pressed on every side.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

God will give you rest

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I  greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book  of  Matthew 11:28 , “Come to Me all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle, and lowly in heart. and you will find rest for your souls.” For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we learn that God wants us to take rest in Him. He wants us to carry His yoke which is light and easy.  He wants us to learn from Him, for He is gentle and lowly in heart.   Have you ever had a time in your life where you felt overwhelmed by the things of this world?  Where life seemed so hard and no matter, what you did, things just wouldn’t go right. At such hard times the first thing that Jesus says, to us is , “ Come to Me.” We need to come to God personally; there is nothing between Him and us. Secondly He is inviting us to come. God wants you in fact, He wants you so much that Jesus died on the cross just to prove it. God’s love for us is so great and He wanted us so much that He sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. Thirdly God knows those who need rest. It is those who labour and are burdened. But what does that mean?  All those who labour means, those who are striving to do it on their own effort. And   failing to accomplish it.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I know that in my life, when I try to do everything with my own strength, it does not turn out well. “’When you are heavy laden,” means, when your spirit, mind, and emotions, fail to function, properly because there is this weight on you that you try to lift by yourself. It causes you to feel down, depressed, anxious and those negative, things that we do not want in life. So God says, He will give us rest, when we grow weary and He even tells how to derive rest from Him. We need to take His yoke upon us and learn from Him. When we take up His yoke and begin to learn from Him, then we enjoy rest for our souls, our mind, and emotions. God gives us rest from fear, hopelessness, addictions and depressions.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, God drives out our fear, because he is with us, and supernaturally protects us. God has good plans for your life  and you can rest, knowing that no matter what your life is now,  if you trust God, it will get better. God wants to set you free and give you rest, from the torture you are going through by consuming alcohol, or smoking, and taking drugs or indulging yourself in pornography. If you let God to crush the addiction by which you are enslaved, God will gladly and willingly heal your heart, of the things that caused addiction in your life.  Finally depression robs you of the ability to enjoy life and not only hurts you mentally but physically   as well. It is not God’s will that you suffer from depression But God wants you to live a full life and is able to heal your mind, as you take those steps of faith  to find his rest. Therefore learn to find God’s rest. We need to become more like Jesus through the help of the Holy Spirit. It is only as we experience God ,that we become more like Jesus and can rest in Him. May the Lord help you to take rest in Him. God bless you.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord thank You for providing Rest for our souls. Thank You for calling us to come and Rest under your wings. Teach us to carry your yoke upon ourselves, which is light and easy. Help us to learn from you, as you are gentle and lowly in heart. May we have the desire to become more like Jesus.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.
