THE COMFORTER

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Isaiah 66:13, “As One whom his mother comforts so I will comfort you, and You shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”

“My Dear Brothers and Sisters from the above context we know that Pastors and Ministers are instruments of God and are of great comfort to those who are grief stricken. Yet God is the sole efficient cause of comfort   to mankind.   Since He is an immense and infinite Being possessed of all perfections and yet revives the spirit of the humble and contrite; as He is the Maker of heaven and Earth and all things  and those whom He comforts are, ordinary dust and ashes, moreover, He is just and righteous. Though people  are  ungodly and guilty of backsliding and sometimes revolting against God  Himself. Yet   He comforts them as He has loved them with an everlasting love, and has given His only begotten son, for them and quickens them though they remain   dead in sin.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,   we read that just as a Father pities his children So the Lord pities those that fear Him. Today God says, I will comfort you just as your mother comforts you. In the worldly sense, there is no other greater character who can comfort us more than a mother. Because a mother carries her child within her womb for ten long months and also suffers from pain while begetting her child. During her pregnancy  she  cannot  sleep peacefully. She suffers from vomiting and she is  not even able to eat what she desires during the time of her pregnancy.  She cannot   run about and do her work as she likes. Sometimes she struggles to breathe. Some suffer from giddiness. She patiently goes through all these issues before she delivers her baby. She is cautious about her baby in the womb and takes great care till she brings forth her baby.

My Dear brothers and Sisters, Passing all these hurdles she sacrifices almost ten months to give birth to her child. Similarly after the baby is born she is not able to bear any problem  that  her child undergoes. Sometimes the baby might fall down from the bed or cradle she immediately runs to pickup her child, carries in her arms and hugs and kisses the fallen child. That is  the love and comfort a mother shares. There  is much more one could mention about a mother. In the same manner our God takes great care of us and  comforts us throughout our lifetime. Our God is the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,  who comforts us in our troubles. He says, “ Look I shall not leave you as orphans. I will come to you.”David says, Lord when I was troubled within my heart, Your consolation brought me great joy. God further consoles us by saying, “I even I am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid, of a man who will die? And the son of man who will be made like grass?

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, What more do you need when you have a God on your  side.   I know many who read this message  are going through various  troubles, in your life.  Apostle Paul encourages us by saying If God is on our side then who can be against us? This is the assurance you need to have as a Child of God. Remember in this world you will have tribulation, but take heart God has overcome the world. May the Lord comfort you. God bless you.

Prayer:  Our   loving   heavenly   Father,   we  thank  You for this blessed day. Thank you Lord for   revealing to us the greatness of a Mother. And that You comfort us as a Mother comforts her child.  We praise You Lord for comforting us at times of troubles. Give us the strength to overcome our grief and sorrow by holding on to You.  Help many to be good mothers to their children. Grant them the grace to grow their children in the fear of God.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

NO MORE SORROW

I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that  God  has  given  for  you  today  is  from the book of  Exodus 6:6 , “ I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgement.”

From the above context we come to understand that our God is a Righteous Judge. God will not only provide house for the desolate but also deliver them from bondages that they are caught up with. Some of you might have been caught in debts, in some unwanted issues. Or may be in some sinful   activity.  God is going to deliver all of you from such issues. In the Bible we read about a widow who was caught up with huge debt.  God delivered her and her sons. And she was relieved from her bondage.

One day certain woman of the wives of a prophet, cried out to Prophet Elisha, saying that her husband was dead, and that he was a man who feared the Lord.  But he had left behind a huge debt which she could not repay. And the creditor was demanding her two sons to work with him as slaves. As compensation for the debts   incurred by her husband.  The woman was much troubled in heart so she cried out to the Prophet. So Elisha said to her, what shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house? And she said, “Your maid servant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”Then he said to her, “Go borrow empty vessels from all your neighbours, as many as you can. And when you have gathered them go into your room you and your sons and shut the door from behind. Then pour the oil that you have, into all the empty vessels, and set aside all the full ones.”She did as the Prophet Elisha had said.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,  when the vessels were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is no other vessel” So the oil ceased from flowing. Then she went and told the man of God, that she had filled in all the vessels. And the Prophet said to her, “Go sell the oil and pay your debt, and you and your sons live with the rest.” So the woman paid her creditors and lived in peace with her sons thereafter. Thus God delivered the woman and her sons from their bondage.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Are you in bondage? Have you been caught up with huge debt, or you involved in court case or have you been harassed by someone? Are you suffering from incurable disease? What is your problem that you are facing right at this point of time? Doesn’t worry, God will descend from His Holy Mountain to help you and deliver you from your bondage. Jesus said, “My judgement is just.” Righteousness and Justice are the foundations of God’s throne. So God will do justice to you also as he has promised. For He is the Rock, His work is perfect, For all His ways are justice. A God of truth, and without injustice. Righteous and upright is He. When we have such a God why worry. Take your problems before the Lord in prayer and He will cause you to be victorious in life. God bless you.

Prayer:  Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank you for telling us from the scripture, how God rescued the woman in bondage. Teach us to be depend upon God for all our needs. May we not get trapped, in any unwanted issues?   Prevent us from being caught up in bondages. Deliver us from all unrighteousness and help us to be just and honest in our lives.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

DO GOOD

I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of  Genesis 50:20, “ But as for you, you meant evil against me, But God meant it for good, in order to bring  it as it is this day to save many people alive.”

In the above context we see that Joseph has forgiven his brothers, who sold, him into slavery.  He says that although they meant harm upon Joseph it worked out for good according to Gods plan. They thought to do evil, against Joseph. But God meant it unto good, in order to the fulfilling of the dreams, and the making of Joseph a greater blessing to his family. God’s   counsel alone shall stand.  God often brings good out of evil   and promotes the   designs, of his providence, even by the sins of men. Joseph assures them   of   the continuance   of his kindness, to them.  He says, “Fear not, I will nourish you.”’ The above verse shows   that Joseph was a man with an excellent spirit, and we learn from him to render good for evil. He did not complain his brothers   of their wrong behaviour but he would be kind to his brothers. He did not hold them in   suspense,  neither did  he seem   jealous of them though they had been suspicious, about him. Even   though they were unkind to him, he comforted them. In order to banish all their fears, he spoke kindly to them.

Those whom we love and forgive   we  must not only do  well  for  them  but also speak  kindly  to them. Joseph wept at the distress, and doubt of his brothers, when they all fell down before him, entreating his forgiveness. Joseph removes all their fears, by saying “Am I in Gods stead that I should take revenge?  He very well knew that God had judged them, and turned their sinful deed into a blessing. He assures them of his brotherly kindness toward them.

The intentions of the brothers were bad.  They planned to take away   his   life and make him a slave all the days of his life.  But God meant it unto good.  He designed that good should come by it and he brought good out of it. This verse shows how bad things in life, can result in unexpected good outcome. . With the power of the forgiveness of sins, all trespasses may become right again. And bad things may become good again. The key is how we handle, life’s events, and the choices we make to influence outcomes.

Whatever  evil  you  have faced in life,  whatever  evil and unsuccessful results,  you had experienced recently,  God is changing such things in your life,  and God who breaks the barriers is descending upon you in a mighty manner. If you want to be successful, in the way, you  go, you need to do two things. Firstly never go away from God and secondly be always dependent upon God. Joseph was one such person who always depended upon God. He was an honest man before God. And he trusted on the Lord alone. And so he was successful. Has anyone wronged you in your life? Has your boss shifted you to a different location?  or have they delayed your promotion  for various reasons?  Depend on the Lord,  He will turn the curse into a blessing for you. He is ever watching the thoughts and actions of men.   God will deal with those who have wronged you. Continue to depend on the Lord Jesus Christ He will perfect that which is imperfect.  And just as God turned the evil for the benefit of Joseph the same God will change the situation for your good. So be cheerful in the Lord.  God bless you.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank You  for  turning  the evil, for our good. Help us to be depended upon God. May we learn to be ever faithful to   God.   Teach us to handle every   situation that rises up in our life carefully. May we understand the ways of God, and always, rely on Him for our sustenance.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

THE LORD WILL BE WITH YOU

I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of 2 Kings 18:6,7 , “For He held fast to the Lord, he did not depart from following Him, but kept his commandments which the Lord had commanded Moses. The Lord was with him, he prospered wherever he went. And he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and did not serve him.”
From the above context we come to understand that Hezekiah feared God and kept his commandments. He held on to God for all his needs therefore he prospered wherever he went. Hezekiah began to reign when he was twenty five years old. And he did what was right in the sight of God, according to all that his father, David had done. He removed the high places, and broke the sacred pillars, cut down the wooden images, and broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made in the wilderness.
He trusted in the Lord God of Israel, so that after him, there was none like him, among all the kings of Judah. For he held fast to the Lord, he did not depart from following Him, but kept his commandments. Which the Lord had commanded Moses. The Lord was with him and therefore Hezekiah prospered wherever he went. He also refused to serve the king of Assyria, He was even known for preserving antiquity like the golden pot of Manna, and Aaron’s rod. that budded, and the tablets of the covenant. Thus Hezekiah obeyed the commandments, of Moses which were laid down for the people of Israel.
Many of you while reading this message seem to be so worried, and perplexed as to why things are not working the way you expect, and you are not successful, like Hezekiah. You are broken in heart with much disappointment; You seem to have been a failure, all this while. You begin to do something, but you end up in failure. You go to distant places in order to look out for a bride or bridegroom, but you return disappointed. You always, get a negative reply, a negative response to all your queries. As a result you have sunk in depression. Because you are so disappointed that nothing is working as per your desire. You seem to be a total failure. You seem to say, “Look if I take one step forward then I fall four steps backward.”No never think that way, for God is more concerned about your life. He will enlist you in the order of Hezekiah, and cause you to be successful in life, provided you acquire the quality of Hezekiah.
To be successful, you need to do two things, firstly you should not depart from God, and secondly you should live a dependent life on God. You should never backslide and join the devil in any way. If a man has the character, of the devil then he is of the devil, and does not belong to God. May God help you to analyse for yourself, where you have fallen short, of the glory of God. and repair the damages caused in your life. David repented of his sins therefore God exalted him. Similarly God will exalt you and cause his face to shine upon you. The Bible says, David prospered in all his undertakings for the Lord was with him. And He continued to prosper in all his ways. Likewise Isaac sowed in that land during famine, and reaped in the same year, a hundred fold. They were successful because God was with them. If God is with you then you will be successful. Hold on to God like Hezekiah. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank you for this blessed day. Lord we thank you for showing us the way to success. Teach us to hold on to God, and not to depart from Him. May we do that which is right in the sight of God. Make us to prosper in all our ways like Hezekiah.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.

YOU WILL PREVAIL

I greet and bless you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of 1 Samuel 26:24,25.

And indeed as your life was valued much this day, in my eyes, so let my life be valued much in the eyes of the Lord. And let Him deliver me from all my tribulations. Then Saul said to David, “May you be blessed my son David, you shall both do great things, and also still prevail.” So David went on his way and Saul returned to his place.

From the above context we come to understand that David was running for his life from the cruel hands of King Saul. And even though he had an opportunity to kill King Saul, David spared his life. Yes, being scared of king Saul, David hid himself along with his bodyguard, Abishai in the hills of   Hachilah.  But   Saul continued his hunt for David. He was jealous of David because he killed Goliath the Philistine   giant and brought victory to the army of Israel. God had anointed David to be the next king   of Israel. So King Saul was seriously searching for David, to kill him. He gathered well armed, three thousand warriors and surrounded the hill and Saul encamped

in the hill of Hachilah.

King Saul had done much injustice to David. He had given away David’s first wife Michal,   to another man Phalti in marriage. And also with held his kingship from appointing David as king of Israel. David therefore sent out spies and came to know that Saul and his men had surrounded his hide out. But David and Abishai had been trapped inside the hill.  David did not know how to escape from there. He knew for sure that he would be killed if he went outside. Therefore he cried out to God to save his life. And so, that night, God sent a deep sleep among the three thousand warriors including king Saul and Abner the commander of his army.

That night while all were in deep sleep both David and Abishai, came to the place where the warriors encamped and found Saul sleeping  with  his spear  stuck in the ground, by his head. Then Abishai the body guard of David, said to him, “God has delivered your enemy into your hand, this day, permit me to strike king Saul, at once with the spear right to the earth. And I will not have to strike him a second time.” But even though David was afflicted by king Saul, he refused to kill him while he was asleep. He said to Abishai, “Do not destroy him, for who can stretch out his hand against the Lord’s anointed and be guiltless. David further said, As the Lord lives, the Lord shall strike, him or his day shall come to die, or he shall go out to the battle, and perish.”And David refused to strike Saul. He only took the spear, and the jug of water, that was found   by Saul’s head, and they both got away. And no man saw it or knew it. For they were all asleep   because a deep sleep   had fallen, upon them.

Then David went to the other side, and stood on top of the hill, afar off, at a great distance. David, cried out to Abner, the body guard of king Saul saying, “You are worthy to die as you have not guarded  your Lord the king and he showed him the king’s spear, and the jug of water, that was kept by the side of king Saul’s head. King Saul immediately recognized the voice of David, and said, “Is that your voice my son David?’’’And David said, “Here is the king’s spear, let one of the young men come over and get it.”Then David said, to king Saul, “May the Lord repay   everyman for his righteousness,  and his faithfulness. For the Lord delivered you into my hand today, but I would not stretch out my hand against the Lord’s anointed. And indeed as your life was valued much this day, in my eyes, so let my life be valued much in the eyes of the Lord. And let Him deliver me from all my tribulations”. Then Saul said to David, “’May you be blessed my son David, you shall both do great things, and also still prevail”. So David went on his way and Saul returned to his place.

As David says, let God be the judge. Let Him deal accordingly to the mercies of God.  The Lord will repay every man for his righteousness,  and his faithfulness.   Cast all your burdens upon the Lord, and He shall sustain you. The righteous shall never be moved.  For whoever pursues righteousness, and love, finds life.   David was very righteous; therefore God did not give him into the hands of the wicked. Instead he saved him from all his troubles and set him above all, as the royal king of Israel.

Prayer:   Our loving heavenly Father, we thank you for this blessed day.   Thank you for teaching us to be more righteous.  Help us to be faithful like David. May we endure troubles patiently like David, and bring honour and glory to God. Teach us to look up to God at difficult times rather than men who are undependable and unreliable.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.
