The Helper

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of 2 Chronicles 14:11 , “Asa cried out to the Lord, Lord it is nothing for you to help, whether with many or with those who have no power. Help us O Lord, for we rest on you. Do not let man prevail against You.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, From the above context we see the bold character of Asa, King of Judah. He did that which was good and right in the sight of God. He aimed at pleasing God. Happy are all those who walk upright in the sight of God. God graciously accepted him in what he did and approved his conduct. For He removed the altars, of the foreign gods, and the high places, and broke down the sacred pillars and cut down the wooden images. He commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers. And to observe the law and the commandment. He also removed the high places, and the incense altars, from all the cities of Judah and the kingdom was quite under him. And he also built fortified cities, in Judah for he had no war in those years, because the Lord had given him rest.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Asa was more like his ancestor David in his character. This proves Asas bold and strong hand in exercising power over the land of Judah. Therefore he said to Judah, Let us build these cities and make walls around them, and towers, gates, and bars. As God has given us rest on every side.”In his days, the land was quiet for ten years. Later, Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million men and three hundred chariots. So Asa went out against him. He was rather scared to face the large troop so he cried out to the Lord, and said, Lord it is nothing for you to help whether with many or with those who have no power. Since he cried out to the Lord for help and as he did that which was right in the sight of God, God was pleased with him and the Lord struck the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, God encourages you through the character of Asa to be bold and strong and when you do that which is right in the sight of the Lord, then God will hear your cry and reach out to help you. He will never forget you nor forsake you. He will help you to come out of your problem, no matter how big or great the problem may seem to be. For it is a trivial thing for the Lord to perform whether with many or with those who have no power. Therefore humble yourself in the mighty hands of God as Asa did and you will be victorious in your life.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank you for reminding us the character of Asa. Help us to do that which is right in the sight of the Lord like Asa, and be pleasing unto the Lord. May we be bold and strong in our resolutions. Teach us to exhibit good qualities like that of Asa boldly. Teach us to be determined about our resolution. In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

Be Of Good Cheer

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Matthew 9:2 , “Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, From the above context we understand that it is necessary to be cheerful as our sins have been forgiven. Jesus spoke these words to the Paralytic who was brought to him while he was ministering to the people in a cottage. In the word of God it has been recorded that there were many characters who have been too timid initially but gradually became strong and powerful because Jesus strengthened them while He went about doing good for the people. One such person was the paralytic.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, four men from the city of Capernaum brought a paralytic lying on a bed. They tried to bring him through the door but they were hindered by the crowd. So they got upon the roof and removed part of the roof and let him down with the ropes through the opening into the midst of the crowd. Just in front of Jesus. This implied faith in His power to heal on the part of both the sick man and the bearers. When Jesus saw their faith He was moved with compassion and said to the paralytic, “Son be of good cheer your sins are forgiven you.” Immediately the paralytic took his bed and walked to his house. He was delivered from his sickness. This was to indicate that Jesus had the power to even forgive sins.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Jesus always, displayed his compassionate way of dealing with all those who came to meet Him. Some of them, He touched while others He spoke words of faith. Words of kindness and sympathy In this case He looked with infinite tenderness on the dejected sufferer who had almost lost their hope. Jesus knew that the disease of the soul must first be removed and then would come the time for healing or restoring strength to the body. So He said, “Son be of good cheer your sins are forgiven”. This was to indicate that Jesus, the Son of God had the power to even forgive sins.

My dear Brothers and Sisters, today many of you experience the fallen state of life in your business, in your studies and your ministry. Surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ. May be some sinful deeds in your past life has been the cause for your fallen state. Ask God for forgiveness of your sins. The Bible says, though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land. You shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city. May God help you to receive forgiveness of sins in order to be healed of all your disease. God bless you.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank you for helping us to realize that sin is the cause of our sickness. Teach us to be aware of our sinful ways and try to avoid wrong ways of life. Make us to know that God forgives our sins and cleanses us from all our unrighteousness. And help us to enjoy the free gift of God and live liberated.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

Seek The Lord

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Isaiah 55:6, “Seek Ye The Lord While He May Be Found.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we understand that we need to seek the Lord. The great promise to those who seek the Lord is that He will be found if you seek Him, And when He is found there is great reward. Whoever would draw near to God must believe that he rewards those who seek him. My Dear Brothers and Sisters, The Bible says, that no man could thus walk with God and please Him unless he had come to Him and no man could come to a God in whom he did not believe. So the facts of Enochs life show that there must have been in him an underlying faith. For God to have translated him to His abode. One must realize that we seek after a living being and that He is the Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Brethren we call ourselves Christians, let us therefore be honest with ourselves and rigid in the thoughts of our hearts. The measure of our seeking God is actually settled by the measure of our desire. But for a man to desire and not to work towards fulfilling his desire is greater misery.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, If we are truly seeking God, we need to bring Him into connection with all our work. We must make an effort to keep by Him as we go about our daily task if we are truly seeking God. Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, says the prophet and immediately goes on to exhort us to call upon Him while He is near as it is the way of seeking Him. He is always near, closer to us than our friends, relatives, near to hear us and to bless us. Those earnestly seeking Him must first believe that He exists. Secondly we must believe that God rewards. Our faith that God is real should move us to action, and we must prove our faith by living in a way, that is pleasing to Him. For those who seek God experience rich blessing with the help of the Holy Spirit, and the wisdom found in His word. They enjoy a rewarding and satisfying way of life.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, You can also enjoy a good relationship with God if you believe that He will reward you when you seek Him with your whole heart. Therefore seek Him while He may be found. Believe that He is a living God and does exist and is near unto all those who call upon Him In truth and Spirit.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank You Lord for opening our eyes to the truth that God exists and rewards those who seek Him. Teach us to seek you while you are available. Help us to walk pleasing to God in all our walk of life. May we be honest and faithful. Help us to be diligent and seek the face of God all the days of our life. In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

You are saved by Grace

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Ephesians 2:8 , ” by grace you have been saved. Through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we understand that we have been saved by grace. It is a simple but profound statement about the gift of God. That He has given to humanity. It is the gift of God, and not of our works that we should boast. However God loved us so much that He extended mercy to us while we were yet sinners by mercifully giving us this new life, through Jesus Christ. Like Christ he has raised us up together so that one day we all will sit together in Heaven. Some claim that the gift of God is faith. The Bible says, Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, without the power or grace to believe no man can ever believe that we have been saved by grace through faith. It is certainly true, that faith is the gift of God. It is a process that takes place in the mind. With the help of the Holy Spirit, that produces salvation. We believe that through the grace of God we shall be saved. Grace is the moving cause of salvation, while faith is only the instrument by which it is laid hold of. Grace is love that stoops and that requites not according to desert, but bestows upon those who deserve, nothing of the kind.

So when the Apostle declares that the source of salvation is grace, he declares that the fountain of all our deliverance from sin, and of our healing of our sickness lies in the deep heart of God from which it springs, up not by anything except His own infinite loving kindness. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life. Dear brothers and Sisters, have you received the free gift of salvation. Do you realize that you have been saved freely by the grace of God. Because God has forgiven all your past sins that were previously committed in order to demonstrate His righteousness. For the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith. As it is written, The just shall live by faith. May the Lord help you to live in faith.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank you for helping us to understand that we have been saved by grace through faith. Help us to grow in the grace and knowledge of God. And equip ourselves well in scripture for every good work. Teach us to stand firm in the faith and be strong. Let not our faith rest upon mens wisdom, but on God’s power. In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

Good Things

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus  Christ our Lord.  The blessed  word  that God has  given  for  you  today  is  from the book of  Jeremiah 31:14 “I will satisfy the priests with abundance and My People will be filled with My bounty.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,   from the above context we understand that God will satisfy the needs of His people. The Bible says, God, scattered Israel, throughout the land. Therefore He knows where to find them. It is clear and comfortable to observe the goodness of the Lord regarding the gifts of Providence. God promises to satisfy His people with His loving kindness. God further promises to bless the priests, by giving success in their ministry and letting them see the fruit of their labor, and make them rejoice. Hence the priests of the Jews after the captivity kept the feast, of the dedication of the temple with joy. The Bible says The Lord had made the people joyful. And the people were satisfied with the Lord’s goodness.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, the Bible says, that there would be no manner of trouble and affliction in those times among the people. Thus the Lord met the needs of the priests. In the same way, the Lord wants to satisfy the needs of His children. God wants to bless you with all good things. We see that many people do not have sound sleep. This is because they are controlled by the evil spirit. Satan does not permit them to live in peace and harmony. Satan wants to make them mad, and let them suffer in their normal lives. They would behave in a peculiar manner and if questioned they would say, they did not have proper sleep the previous night. Such people would not be able to do anything correctly. Sleep is essential to maintain a healthy life. To sleep well you need the grace of God.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, do you have proper sleep? Are you worried about the issues of your family?  Is something worrying you and are you not able to come out of it. The Bible encourages us to put our trust in God as an assurance of peaceful resting. If you are troubled by worries then your sleep will be disturbed. For worries prevent you from sleeping.  So you need to cast your anxieties upon the love and sovereignty of God.  When deep sleep falls on people as they slumber in their beds, they see dreams and visions at night.  Once when Jesus spoke about Lazarus of Bethany to his disciples, He said,  “Our friend Lazarus sleeps. But I go that I may awake him up.” But the disciples of Jesus said, to him, “ Lord if he sleeps, he will get better.”Yes if you sleep well you will get better.” Sound sleep provides sufficient rest during the night as we recover our energy, to take on the next day. David in his Psalms says, “ I lie down and sleep. I awake again Because the Lord sustains me.”He says, In peace, I will lie down and sleep,  for you alone Lord make me dwell in safety.”  God bless you.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly   Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord, we thank you for telling us of the importance of sound sleep.  We also thank you for giving us rest through deep sleep. Remove all our worries and troubles that cause distress and disturb our sleep. Give us the grace to sleep well so that we may have a healthy life.

In Jesus name, we pray.

Amen.
