The Blessings Of The Lord.

I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of  Deuteronomy 14:29.“    And the Levite,  because he has no portion,  nor inheritance, with you and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow who are within your gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that the Lord your God, may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do. ”

From the above context we see how God had directed the people of Israel to consider the poor, the fatherless and the widows. And then God promises to bless them. In ancient Israel, God instructed His people to set aside a special tithe to assist those in need: orphans, widows, strangers, and Levites. Even today the churches set aside a portion of tithe for the welfare of the poor people. And they used some of the revenue to support God’s work of preaching the gospel and help the church members that gather to   worship. A portion from the produce of their land was also used to   support the poor and needy. The whole appointment evidently was against the covetousness, distrust, and selfishness of the human heart. It promoted friendliness, liberality, and cheerfulness, and raised a fund for the relief of the poor. They were taught that their worldly portion was most comfortably enjoyed, when shared with their brethren who were in want. If we thus serve God, and do   with what we have, it is promised that the Lord our God will bless us in all the works of our land. The blessing of God is all to our outward prosperity; and without that blessing, the work of our hands will bring nothing to pass.

Today all the promises and the blessings of God which He has spoken will rest upon the crown of your head. You have experienced many  stormy wind during the past years, but you waited  very patiently for God to do something good in your life. You had to face many challenges, but in spite of all the hurdles you had a boldness within you that one day the Lord will perform a miracle for you. Hence your hope will not be lost for surely there is a hereafter. You hoped that heavenly rain will pour down upon you and your family. You are waiting upon God with much hope. That is why God wants to bless you through this message. From today onwards it’s going to rain on your side.   May be until today you had only experienced sheer dryness as a result there was lack of finance and thereby you landed in huge debts. And you had to face shame and dishonour.

You neither had gold or silver or sufficient money to settle your children in marriage, You couldn’t help them to do higher studies. Nor  could you establish a business for them Therefore you are pained at heart. But never forget that you have a God who has the gold and silver. So don’t be afraid of the prevailing situation, God has come down to help you. God is about to pour his blessings upon you, and your family.  All that God expects from you is that when God blesses you, then you need to consider the poor. If you do so,  then  the Lord your God, will  bless you in all the work of your hand which you do. All these days you never seemed to prosper in any of the things you attempted to do. But henceforth you shall prosper because you have set your hope in God. It is certain that after reading this message a ray of hope has filled your heart regarding a bright future. Faith like that of a mustard seed has developed within you. So all the mountain like problems that stand as a blockade preventing you from being successful, will be uprooted.  God has placed not only an open door but a favourable door to your success.  God bless you.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank you for teaching us to be thoughtful about the poor and needy. Help us to share what we have with others, never to underestimate them at any cost   but to consider them. And thus be blessed in our lives. May we help the people in our church and contribute to the preaching of the Gospel.

 In Jesus name we pray,

Amen.

GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Proverbs 3:34, “Surely He scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble.’’

My dear brothers and Sisters, from the above context we understand, that the Lord is so concerned about His children. God exalts those who humble themselves before God. Humbleness is one of the characteristics of good personality. May be you are lacking this quality in life. Until yesterday you might have been a proud person. Pride has blinded your eyes from doing the right things. Therefore you have been caught up in one problem or another. God wants to help you live a good and peaceful life. He wants you to progress or move forward in your life. He wants you to be successful in your life. His mercy is very essential to lead a good life.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, make a decision to put away pride. Be not haughty or short tempered. The Bible says, behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him. He transgresses by wine, for he is a proud man. And He does not stay at home. He enlarges his desire and cannot be satisfied. He heaps up for himself. Ask God to forgive you of your pride. Say Lord I humble myself before you, Like Mary teach me to be humble. She said, ”Behold the maid servant of the Lord ! Let it be to me according to your word.”She humbled herself to the lord and therefore she found favour in HIS sight to carry the baby Jesus in her womb. Similarly you are going to hold many good things in your hand. You may even carry a holy generation in your womb.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, you need to turn to God to receive new mercies from God. Place your family, your children, your business, at the feet of the Lord. You need to pray for your needs and be thankful to God for all His blessings. Begin the day with prayer. With Jesus in the family makes a happy, happy home. If Jesus lives in your home then there will be rejoicing all the days of your life. If you need to live without being destroyed and if you need to rejoice all the days of your life, then you need to be satisfied by His new mercies every morning. That is why Moses cries unto the Lord saying, “Oh satisfy us early with your mercy, That we may rejoice all the days of our life according to days, in which you have afflicted us. The years in which we have seen evil.”

My dear brothers and sisters, It is true that you are working hard to enjoy a happy secured life, Therefore you are sacrificing many things in life in order to enjoy a peaceful life. So you need to beg unto the Lord for new mercies each day of your life especially in the early morning. When you search for God in the early morning you will receive his blessings and you will be successful in all your endeavours throughout the day. Never think of a life without Jesus Christ. His faithfulness is new every morning. Hallelujah! He will accompany you wherever you go, guide you and protect you. He will bless the work of your hands and prosper you. Only then you will be able to live a happy life according to the days you had been afflicted. God will do supernatural miracles in your life and you will receive protection. God bless you.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank You for helping us to know the value of being humble in our lives. Lord has pity on us, and take away our shame and failures. Help us to see better days in life. Give us days of prosperity according to the days of our poverty. Touch us and bless us and our children that we may enjoy the days of our life. . In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.

Give cheerfully.

I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of Deuteronomy 15: 10,  “God will bless you in all   your works and in all  to which you put your hand.”

From the above context we learn that God loves a cheerful giver. And when one gives unto his fellow men it pleases God Himself, and in return the Lord will bless you in all   your works and in all to which you put your hand.”The Bible says, usually the heart of man is wicked. He is rather selfish and never wants to share what he has. That is a wicked heart indeed, which raises evil thoughts from the good law of God.     One must keep out of their minds the very thought of sin. It is a dreadful thing to have the cry of the poor justly against us. Grudge not a kindness to your brother; distrust not the providence of God. What you wish to do, do it freely, for God loves a cheerful giver.

God admonishes the people of Israel to be kind and gentle when they deal with the strangers. He reminds them that once they too were strangers in the land of Egypt.   Thou shall surely give him, or lend to him sufficiently as that person is extremely poor. And God says, “”When you give him  your heart shall not be grieved  at parting with the  money for  he has little or no hope of seeing again, such an amount of money,   and,  God expects that it should be  given freely and cheerfully, for God loves a cheerful giver, because  for this thing the Lord thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all you  put your  hand into; that is, for lending or giving largely, liberally, and cheerfully, to persons in distress.

God through Moses directs the people of Israel as to how, they need to treat the poor in the land they go to.  If anyone is poor among your fellow Israelites in any of the towns of the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hard   hearted toward them. Rather, be open handed and freely lend them whatever they need.  Be careful not to harbor this wicked thought: “The seventh year, the year for cancelling debts, is near,” so that you do not show ill will toward the needy among your fellow Israelites and give them nothing. They may then appeal to the Lord against you, and you will be found guilty of sin. Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.  There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be open  handed  toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land. For it was the custom in Israel that, at the end of every seven years, their servants should be released of all their debts. The master who has lent anything to his neighbour should release it. He should not penalise his brother or his servant regarding this release,  as it was known as the Lords Release.

Having read this message, do you feel that if you release the debts to those who have borrowed from you,   that  you will be at a great loss?  No never, because God watches your good heart and will reward you accordingly. Never force or compel your debtors to return the money they borrowed from you within the stipulated time for they may not be able to do so. Never torture anyone but deal gently as the word of God has instructed,  then God will be pleased with your motive and bless you and your children. The Bible says , “Money is the root cause of all evil.”  The rich rules   over the poor. And the borrower is servant to the lender. Therefore he who has  a generous eye will be blessed. There is one who scatters yet increases, more. And there is one who withholds more than is right. But  it  leads to poverty. For the generous soul  will be made rich.  And he who waters will   also  be watered himself. God bless you.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day.   Lord teach us to be generous   at heart. May we deal gently   with our servants and our fellow men. Help us to consider the poor and not charge interest from them. Grant us the needed wisdom to deal carefully  with the debtors and not hurt their feelings, by being harsh or rude towards them. Let us be merciful and extend kindness to them when they go through severe financial crisis.

 In Jesus name we pray,

Amen

God’s Protection.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that   God   has  given  for  you  today  is  from the book of   Genesis 31:29 “It is in my power to do you, harm. But the God of your father spoke to me last night saying, Be careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad. ”

Dear Brothers and Sisters,   from the above context we come to understand that the Lord whom we worship cares for us He comes along with us as a shadow. The secret works of God is hid in our homes. Only that word has  kept  us alive. Many have planned and tried to do harm to us in our lives. It can be people in your family, people at your work spot, or in your neighbourhood. Why it can be your very close friends. Many want to hit us on our backs. Is it not true?

In the same way, many are digging pits behind your backs to bury you. But don’t worry, because nothing will happen to you without the knowledge of God. We read in the Bible that Joseph’s brothers threw him into a deep, dry pit. But before they could close the pit and bury him God intervened and opened a new door for him.  They   quickly pulled him up and sold him to the Egyptian merchants passing by. God is always trying to safeguard his children and   protect them from the harm that could befall them. Hallelujah.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, God is working secretly behind us to help us in our difficult situation. God turns the very person who is planning to harm us to do good to us. That is the character of our God for He is a good God. You might have heard people out of pride say;   “ Look  If  I want I can fling you out of this place.    I will destroy you and your family completely.   Why, I can even clear you out of this city.  You will have no identity. For   I have   power to harm you. ” From such people God has protected you and me,    because He not only loves us but also cares for us.  If  God had not protected us from the hands of those who troubled us then we would have perished in the hands of our enemy.

Worldly people will show off themselves and boast of their capacity in order to gain  name and fame. Our God is not so. He silently works behind us to protect and safeguard us from our foes. Some of you are crying saying that you are not able to move forward as all the doors seem to be closed. You sometimes think that someone has done some witchcraft over you and therefore you are unable to move forward in life. May be someone has spoilt your name and hence you want to either quit your job or move to some other location.  But God says, “ Don’t worry I will fight for you.” He will turn out everything for your good.

God was mindful of Jacob his beloved. He warned Laban his uncle, who planned to harm him and wash him out thoroughly. He spoke to him the previous  night not to speak anything good or bad to Jacob. But to send him to his father’s place peacefully  with his wife and children, and all his flocks and goods. The Bible says, For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself, strong on behalf  of those whose  heart is  loyal to Him.  Are you loyal to God?    Do you have a close relationship with God? Do you communicate with Him?  Then you can be assured of His unfailing   love and protection. The Psalmist says, God never permits any one to do you wrong. No one will   touch  God’s anointed children. No enemy can touch you too.  Trust in Jesus. God bless you.

Prayer:  Our  loving  heavenly Father,  we thank  You for this blessed day.  Lord thank you for  taking  care  of  us  and  our situation.  Thank You Lord for fighting on our behalf silently with our enemies.  Make us to realize that we are constantly under Your care and protection. Help us to be loyal to You. We thank You Lord for all your providence. Teach  us to be careful while we speak to others, never to hurt others but to be gentle and courteous.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

Endurance.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that  God  has  given  for  you  today  is  from the  book of  Hebrews 12:6 , “For whom the Lord loves He chastens.  And scourges every son whom he receives. ”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we know that it is a universal truth that God sends trials on those whom He loves.  It does not mean that he sends chastisement though you don’t deserve or just to inflict pain. But it means that by his chastisements he shows that he has a parental care for us. He does not treat us with neglect and unconcern. The very fact that he corrects us shows that he has towards us a father’s feelings  and exercises towards us a parental care. If He did not care for us then he would let us go on without any attention, and leave us to pursue, a course of sin that would lead us to ruin our lives.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, God scourges every one whom he acknowledges   as his child. The Bible clearly says, For whom the Lord loves He corrects. Just as a father,   the son in whom He delights, practically we learn obedience by the things which we suffer from. All men are not the objects of God’s love. Only a special people whom he has chosen for himself are scourged. Especially when they sin and walk against Him then He quickens and calls them by His grace. He justifies, pardons, and accepts them in Christ. And whom he causes to love these He loves with an everlasting love. Now these who are  chastened by Him,  He loves them,  while they are being chastened.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, many men of God have been chastened by God in Bible times. Yet they proved victorious in life. Joseph was thrown into the pit by his own brothers, Later they sold him to   the Egyptian merchants   for 20 shekels of silver. In Egypt he was accused by  Potiphar’s wife and put in jail for no fault of his. Because he endured his trials patiently God exalted him to the post of Governor in Egypt. Likewise Daniel who was taken as captive at the age of 14 to Babylon,  stripped off his clothes and  his hands  tied by chains. He was faithful  to God and made a commitment that he would not defile himself with the portion of the kings delicacies. Daniel was a man of prayer. God gave him wisdom to interpret dreams and visions.  He humbled himself before God during the time of his trials. Hence God exalted him to the post of Prime minister in   Babylon.  The king   Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate before Daniel and paid him honour.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, one cannot forget the crude affliction of Job that he underwent. Job was chastened bitterly. He lost his children, his cattle his health and all his wealth. He was despised by his friends. He was mocked by his own wife. The Bible says, In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.  He never sinned   with his lips.  God   was pleased with Job   for he was blameless, and upright. And one who feared God and shunned evil. Therefore as soon as the period of trial was completed he found favour in the eyes of God. The Bible says, God blessed him before his friends   and relatives who criticised him. And the Lord restored Job’s losses. He too was a man of prayer. Indeed the Lord gave twice as much as he had before. Hence the Lord blessed the latter days, of Job than his beginnings.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, The Lord will bless you too in the same manner as He blessed Joseph, Daniel, and Job. If you listen to His word you will dwell safely and you will be secure without fear of evil. You need to   endure   patiently and sincerely the period of affliction or chastisement while God allows it in your life.  Then the Lord will honour you and your days of sorrow will turn to joy as it happened in the lives of these men of God. Call upon Him during the days of trouble. He will be very gracious to you, at the sound of your cry.  When He hears it, He will answer you.  Then   You will be exalted and honoured by God. People who rejected you will come back to you. Those who had hurt you will now reconcile with you.  God will reverse all situations in favour of you. So believe that God is able to perform all that He has promised you. God bless you.

Prayer:  Our   loving   heavenly Father, we   thank   You  for this blessed day.  Dear Lord thank You for correcting us and moulding us to the kind of vessel You want us to be. May we learn obedience through   sufferings   Help us to accept affliction without grudging.  Teach us to believe that all things work together for good to those who love God.

 In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.
