Be content with what you have

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Hebrews 13:5 , “Let your conduct be without covetousness and be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

My dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we learn that our conversation should be without, covetousness. For it is an immoderate desire of riches and being over anxious for worldly things. And not being in any way useful to others. Rather being self orient. Instead of making use of one’s talent for the glory of God, they engage themselves in laying up treasures for a man’s own self. This is a very great evil. A believer’s conversation should be seasoned with grace. Godly people are expected to deal uprightly.

Secondly be content with such things as you have. A true child of God should be content with such things as they have, may be present losses, burdens, present reproaches and afflictions, and showing contentment with these things, shows your gratitude for every mercy that God has shown to you, and your ultimate submission to God.

Thirdly , He has said, “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.” This is a promise that God made to Joshua, and this belongs to all the believers. “As I was with Moses so I will be with you.” That is why David says, “I have been young, and now am old. Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken nor his descendants begging bread.” God will not leave them to themselves, nor will he leave them, destitute of his presence. For though He sometimes hides his face and withdraws himself, yet not wholly will he forsake His children.

My dear Brothers and Sisters, the above context assures you of Gods awesome providence and His mighty arm of protection. The above verse expresses his good counselling to the church of the Hebrews. He instructs them with a view that they might not be forsaken by God. What God really expects of you is to be content, with what you have, and to be thankful, to God for all that he has blessed you with.

Today we find that many are dissatisfied with what they have. But the Bible says, Godliness with contentment is great gain. Godliness is a God centred life. Dear Brothers and Sisters are you God centred? Are you focused on things pertaining, to God and His kingdom? Then the Lord will bless you with all the things of this world. Good health, good job, wealth and prosperity. For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro, throughout the whole earth. To show Himself, strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.

God bless you.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank you for teaching us to be content with what we have. Help us to be God centred. And be focused on the things of God rather than worldly things. Teach us to be loyal to God and those around us. You are a God who has not forsaken us. We thank you Lord for your eyes that watch over us and for supporting those who are loyal to You. In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.

No weapons shall prosper against you

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that   God  has  given  for  you  today  is  from the book of  Isaiah 54:17,  “No weapon formed against you shall prosper. And every tongue which rises against you in judgement, you shall condemn”.

My dear Brothers and Sisters,  from the above context we come to understand   that  all the weapons  of  war which are made with a design to hurt and destroy the people of God shall be rendered useless, not one of them shall prosper to the advantage of their enemies.   All those who serve the Lord Jesus Christ shall be treated as sons rather than as servants.   And they have an inheritance assigned to them. Not only protection from all enemies,  and absolutions from all charges.  But they shall receive the reward, of the inheritance   in heaven, since they serve the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says, who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Therefore who is he who condemns the children of God.  For it is Christ who died for you and is also risen and  seated  at the right hand of God and who also makes intercession for you.  People  of  God who are afflicted and tossed and go through grief and fear would be comforted by these words which says, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper”.

“And every tongue which raises against you in judgement you shall condemn.” which means no one shall be able to injure you by words and accusations. If others reproach you and accuse you then you shall be able to convince them of error by manifestation of the truth to condemn them. God looks at you my dear Brothers and Sisters   and says, “No harm shall befall you.” No enemy shall prevail against you. God will deliver you not only from the fury of the war, but also from the strife of tongues,  from  all the threatening and reproaches of your enemies.  This is the heritage or blessings allotted by God for his people who go through affliction.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters you may be trembling because of the losses, sickness, failures,  or problems  each day of your life. But God says, He will take the cup of trembling, and put it into the hands of those who afflict you. Many may turn against you or plot evil against you, but none of them will prosper. The Lord will cover and protect you under the shadow of His wings. Therefore rejoice in the Lord always.

God bless you.

Prayer:

Our   loving   heavenly Father, we thank   You   for this blessed day.  Lord deliver  us from the hands of our  enemies.  You O Lord have assured us, that no evil shall befall us, and you will be with us in trouble and will deliver us and honour us. Lord protect us from sudden terror and the troubles from the wicked. Thank you Lord for being  our confidence. In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

Jesus Gives Peace

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that  God  has  given  for  you  today  is  from the book of John 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” These were the last words spoken by Jesus to His disciples. The above context is the conclusion of our Lords sermons to His disciples.

Jesus was sharing about His departure from the Earth, to prepare a place for them and all about  the persecutions and afflictions they should endure for His sake and the many blessings, both of grace and glory they should enjoy. He also spoke to them, about the oncoming tribulation in the world. While there were tribulations and problems in the world He realised that there was no true peace to be enjoyed for the people in the world. He knew very well that the world could not give that peace. One can enjoy real peace only through Christ  who is the object of all grace.

Christ gives peace by His blood on the cross; and there is peace in Him which is enjoyed through faith. Christ is the omniscient God and truth Himself. Christ became a fountain of peace.  He says to His disciples, “Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

My dear brothers and sisters, today the Lord wants you to live in peace and harmony.  It is the devil who comes to steal, kill and to destroy.  But Jesus came that you may have life and that you may have it more abundantly.

Everyone has troubles in this world. No one is at peace. Everyone goes through oppression. But God will not tempt you beyond, your capacity. The Bible says, “No temptation has overtaken you except, what is common to mankind.  And God is faithful.” He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear. Therefore, however the situation may be; Remember that God is in control of your life. He will solve all your problems. He will deliver you from all your obstacles. Cast your care upon Him for He cares for you.

 God bless you.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Dear Lord you know the pain and agony that your children go through. Relieve them of their distress. Do not test them beyond their capacity. Lord! send your angels and comfort them. Wipe away their tears. Change their sorrow into joy. In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

God hears your cry

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Exodus 3:7 The Lord said, “I have seen the misery of my people, in Egypt. I have heard them crying out, because of their slave drivers  and I am concerned about their suffering.”

My dear Brothers and Sisters, God had a clear and distinct sight of the sufferings of his people in the cruel hands of Pharaoh. He had sympathy, affectionate and concern for them. Hence he decided to deliver them. He had thoroughly observed their affliction and he too was afflicted. In His love and pity, He redeemed them and took them to the Land of Canaan.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, in the same manner, God notices your affliction and your sorrows. To such people God will be their comfort. My Dear Brothers and Sisters, your problems might have increased considerably and you might not able to bear it any further. Sometimes you may say, “I am afraid of all my sufferings.” Call upon God.  He hears your cry. God will come down in a marvellous manner and rescue you from all your owes.  All you need to do is to seek God and commit your ways unto Him. He saves the needy from their distress and gives hope to the poor. God is not a man that he should lie. Nor is He a son of man that He should repent. Has He not promised to help you and will He not do it? He who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see?

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him in truth and spirit. He will also hear their cry and save them. The Lord preserves all who love Him. He hears the cry of the widow the fatherless, the alien and the poor. Therefore dear brothers and sisters, I urge you to commit your ways unto the Lord and put your Trust in Him and He shall bring it to pass. God says, “Call upon Me in the day of trouble and I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me. Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know. “

Yes, my dearly beloved, God wants to do mighty things in your life. Therefore, seek God and He will bless you with great blessings. He will never forsake you nor forget you. He who called you is faithful. Trust Him for all your needs. He will prosper you.

God bless you.

Prayer:

Our loving  heavenly Father, we thank You  for this blessed day. Dear Lord, we thank you for hearing the cries of my children.  You know the miseries of my children. Lord! I pray that You may be merciful upon them and bring them out of their afflictions. We wait upon You Oh God. Strengthen my children while they go through affliction and bring them out of their  bondages and  deliver them from the hands of the evil ones. Be their comforter. In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

The Right Decision

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word  that  God  has  given  for  you  today  is  from the book of Genesis 24:56-58 But he said to them, “Do not hinder since the Lord, has prospered my way, send me away that I may go to my Master.” So they called Rebekah and said to her “Will you go with this man? And she said I will go”.

Abraham’s servant Eliezer, put the nose ring on her nose and the bracelets on her wrists.   Both Laban, and Bethuel  agreed to give away  Rebekah to be the wife of Abraham’s son Isaac.  Therefore Eliezer bowed   before the Lord,  for  having led him in the way of truth. He then presented all kinds of jewels, and gave them to Rebekah. The members of the family wanted to   retain   Rebekah for about ten days. Then Eliezer spoke the above words. “Do not hinder since the Lord, has prospered my way, send me away that I may go to my Master.”

Laban  and other members of  her family asked her if she was willing to go along with  Eliezer to her  husband’s house. So they called Rebekah and said to her “Will you go with this man? And She said I will go. By this she was giving her consent to marry Isaac. She was decent and modest in behaviour. And she was expressive of her agreeing to go with the man (Eliezer) She did not object to their request. Rather she had a strong inclination, to the proposal. And she was determined on it. And perhaps was under a divine impulse,   which strongly wrought upon her  and caused her to be so willing to leave her own people and her father’s house.

After the death of his mother,  Isaac needed someone to comfort him. He waited  patiently for the right time. And as he expected God blessed him with Rebekah to be his wife. She became his wife and he loved her. Hence  Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,  when  you make the right decision  like Rebekah, you shall be surely blessed. She was humble and diligent. She knew the importance of marriage and had the responsibility to make the right choice.  She was willing to leave her father’s house and move forward to her husband’s house. She gladdened the hearts of her family members. That’s  why Laban blessed his sister  saying, “May you become the mother of thousands of ten thousands.” God will bless you also as He blessed Rebekah.  All that you got to do is to wait on the Lord, and make the right decision in your life. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and  He shall direct your path.  God says, I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will guide you with My eye. He will perfect that which concerns you.

God bless you.

Prayer:

Our   loving   heavenly Father,  we thank You for this blessed day.  Lord teach us to be humble and be diligent like Rebekah.  Help us to make the right decision in our life. Thank you Lord for revealing to us the way of truth.  May we be obedient and dedicated in our work like Eliezer.   Lord  lead  us  in the way of righteousness,  for we commit our future in Your blessed hands.   In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.
