My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Jeremiah 32:27, “’Behold I am the Lord the God of al flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?”’
The Lord said to Jeremiah “’ I am about to hand this city over to king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.”’ Jeremiah grew afraid as he was much troubled by Zedekiah king of Judah. So he prays to God and therefore God replies saying Is there anything too hard for the Lord? Times of fear, should be times of prayer. The thought of the omnipotence of God was there, as always, the ground of prayer. Actually Jeremiah adores the Lord. And His infinite perfections.
Whenever we are perplexed about the providence of God it is good to consider that God is the fountain of all being, power and life. Because with Him no difficulty is too hard that it cannot be overcome. For He is a God of boundless mercy and He is a God of strict justice and that He directs everything for the best. Whatever trouble we may go through, personal or public, we can comfort ourselves that the Lord sees it and knows how to remedy it. Jeremiah praises God saying Behold thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power and outstretched arm. For nothing short of Almighty power could have produced such a stupendous work as the heavens. With all the host of sun, moon, stars, the earth and the sea with all that is in them. But there is no such thing with God whose understanding is unsearchable and His power irresistible , with Him nothing is impossible.
Our God is a wonder working God. He does great things past findings out, yes wonders without numbers. Jeremiah says, Your wonderful works which You have done cannot be recounted for they are more than can be numbered. You have revealed Your strength to Your people, And the heavens will praise your wonders. God says, All flesh shall know that I the Lord am your Saviour and Your Redeemer. The mighty one of Jacob. For He spoke , and it was done. He commanded and it stood fast. Jeremiah realized that there is nothing too hard for the Lord. Jeremiah realized that God shows loving kindness to thousands. He recognized the justice and judgement of God. God delivered the people of Israel out of the Land of Egypt through signs and wonders.
In response to the prayer of Jeremiah God first affirmed His power and might in the same terms as Jeremiah prayed. Jeremiah said to the Lord there is nothing too hard for You. God replied back to his praying servant “’ Is there anything too hard for the Lord? Yes, Nothing is too hard for the Lord. God will do a miracle in your life.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank You for revealing Your power and Might in a marvellous manner. Teach us to fear and have reverence to You as Jeremiah. May we look up to You in prayer when we go through fearful situation and in all difficult times. Help us to realize that You are a God of Justice. Show us Your loving kindness.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of 1 Chronicles 29:11, “The Lord reigns over all, in your hand is power, and might. In Your hand it is to make great, and to give strength”.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we come to know that the Lord reigns over all, and there is power and might in His hand. He has the power to make one great and to give one strength. God gave power and strength to prophet Haggai, to deal with the people wisely. The Jews actually returned from the Babylonian captivity, under the leadership of Zerubbabel. At first the Hebrews had been anxious to re establish their religious tradition. They set up the altar of burnt offerings. And laid the foundations of the temple. But soon they became discouraged due to opposition, so the work of restoration was suspended.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, But Prophet Haggai, encouraged the people to resume their work on the house of God. But gradually selfish materialism corroded their hearts, and they were more concerned for personal ambitions than the Lord’s interest. They actually neglected the building of God’s house, that they may have more time, and money for worldly affairs. Many good works that had been intended regarding the building of temple, was badly neglected as people considered that the proper time had not come to build the temple. Thus they shirked off their responsibility.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, thus even today believers slip off opportunities that are useful and many neglect the concerns, of their souls. If we labour for the meat that perishes, we are in fear, of losing our labour. That is why Haggai says, You have planted much, but bring in little. You eat, but you are never satisfied. There is much drinking, and not to exhilarate. You put on clothes but you cannot keep yourself warm. As long as sin lasted, so long they received punishment. As a result God’s appointment in nature to satisfy, to gladden, and to warm, failed of its effect. Hence it is better and wiser to seek to be blessed by God, who bestowed, on us all things. The Bible says, seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank you Lord for telling us that all our labour will be in vain, if we labour for the meat that perishes. Lord let not selfish materialism corrode our hearts. But teach us to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness, so that we may inherit the blessings of God.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Genesis 30: 26, “Give me my wives and children, for whom I have served you, and I will be on my way. You know how much work I’ve done for you.”
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, The above verse is spoken by Jacob to Laban, after Rachel had given birth to Joseph. In this verse we have an account of an increase. Be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth. God expects an increase in the life of every individual. Jacob at this point of time had eleven sons. Ruben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Naptali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulan, and Joseph. He makes a new bargain with Laban. And in all these years, God wonderfully blessed his service, which he did to Laban. And so his stock of cattle increased considerably.
My dear Brothers and Sisters, Here in was fulfilled the blessing with which his father, Isaac blessed him. “ God make thee fruitful and multiply thee.’’ Even small matters concerning Jacob’s house and field are useful for admonition in our life. Jacob had served Laban faithfully though he was an old man and had a large family to provide for and it was high time for him to set up his family for himself. Though Laban’s service was hard, and he had cheated him several times, yet Jacob honestly performed his engagements. Note: “ A good man though he swear to his own hurt, will not change.” He pleads his uncle Laban to let him go to his homeland. He retained his affection for the land of Canaan not only because it was the land of his nativity and his father and mother were there, whom he longed to see, but because it was the land of promise. So he had no idea of settling with his uncle in Haran.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, this teaches us to be attracted towards our heavenly place, viewing the heavenly country as our home, and longing to be there, as soon as the days of our service upon the earth are numbered and finished. We must not think of taking root here. For this is not our place or country. Jacob was desirous to go to Canaan though he had a great family to take with him and no provision yet made for them. Yet he does not solicit Laban to give him either a portion with his wives, or the maintenance of some of his children. “All his request is “Give me my wives and my children and send me away.” He was very particular to leave to his homeland”.
My dear Brothers and Sisters, Those that trust in God in his providence and promise though they have great families and small income can, cheerfully hope that God is able to feed them with sufficient meat. He who feeds the brood, of the ravens will not starve the seed of the righteous. And Laban said to him “Please stay, if I have found favour in your eyes, for I have learned by experience that the Lord has blessed me for your sake.’’ From this incident we learn that God blesses us when we stick on to the children of God. More over God directed the steps of Jacob. “I am the God of Bethel where you anointed the pillar and where you made a vow to Me. Now arise get out of this land. And return to the land of your family.” Thus Jacob was therefore determined to leave with his wives and children to Canaan, his homeland.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank you for this blessed day. Thank you Lord for teaching us about the importance of our heavenly home through the story of Jacob. How he decided to return to his homeland with his wives and children. May the Lord guide us to make correct decision in our life. Help us to understand the ways of God and act accordingly.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Proverbs 31: 10,15,16 “’Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far more than rubies. She also rises while it is yet night. And provides food for her household. She considers a field and buys it. From her profits she plants a vineyard.’”
My Dear Brothers and Sisters , the above verse is often cited in praise of wives and mothers. And is among the most popular and familiar texts from Proverbs. From the above verse king Lemuel ‘describes “’the virtuous wife” by the tremendous amount of work she does for her family. She also rises while it is yet night. And provides food for her household. She is not afraid of the snow, and all her household are clothed in scarlet. God says, it is part of what a truly valuable woman will do. Paul an inspired apostle of Jesus Christ expects the younger woman to be discreet, chaste homemakers, good and obedient to their own husbands. That the word of God may not be blasphemed.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, what Apostle Paul and King Lemuel speaks through the Proverbs, is that God wants women to work for their families. Lydia, for example, held a job. A valuable woman works with her husband rather than challenging his authority or doing him harm. The Bible says, the heart of her husband safely trusts her. So he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not evil, all the days, of her life. Lemuel speaks of the husband being well respected in the community due to his wife’s support and work behind the scenes. In God’s ideal family, husband and wife are a team working together to overcome problems, strengthen one another, and raise godly children.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, If a house is divided against itself that house cannot stand. And when woman refuse to work with their husbands, it is no wonder why so many homes are broken today. A valuable woman works with and supports her husband, despite his failings. And knows that the peace from submission is far more valuable than always getting her way. A valuable woman works for the Lord. The Godly woman’s work is not just for her family it is also for her God. She extends her hand to the poor. Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. The passage concludes with a grand note saying, Charm is deceitful, and beauty is passing but a woman who fears the Lord she shall be praised. There are many things that a woman can do for the Lord in a better way, than men can. Dorcas was one such woman who was full of good works and charitable deeds which she did. She made tunics and garments for many of the widows in Joppa. God appreciates such hard work and promises to reward. When life is done, and we look back over our lives, our focus will not be on how many ladders we climbed or the size of the pay cheques we earned but on whether we worked for the Lord. Valuable woman realize the importance of God’s work. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank You Lord for teaching us, as to how a valuable woman ought to be. We thank you for women like Lydia, and Dorcas who set a good example of valuable woman. Teach us Lord to work united with our husband and build our family and also serve the Lord together. Help us to be patient and tolerant with our spouse. May we realize the importance of God’s work in our lives and strive to work for God.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Isaiah 45:14, “The Labour of Egypt, and Merchandise of Cush, And of the Sabeans, men of stature Shall come over to you and they shall be yours.”
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we understand that God wants to prosper you in every aspect. Be it your business, your studies , your marriage settlement, your settlement abroad and whatever your need may be. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think or pray for. He is a mighty and awesome God.
Sometimes you might be facing many obstacles that prevent you to be successful in your business. When Peter went to catch fish in Galilee, he spent the whole night but he couldn’t catch any fish. Though he was an expert in fishing, yet he failed to catch fish. Jesus told him to cast his net in the deep sea. Then he said to, Jesus, “Rabbi, we worked all the night and we have not caught anything. But at your word I will cast the net.’’ When God commanded he obeyed. And so he was blessed with a good catch of fish. They caught such a large number of fish but even their nets never got torn. So they needed two boats to hold the fish. This was a miracle. Peter couldn’t believe his eyes. In the same manner God will enrich your life if you obey the word of the Lord.
There may be several blockades or obstruction that prevent you from being successful. But God will help you to cross all these barriers and cause you to be successful. Your victory or success depends upon the mercy and grace of the Lord. If God blesses, your business will prosper. For the blessing of the Lord makes one rich and it causes no sorrow. You need to turn to the word of God and for God says, Anyone who hears these words of mine and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. May the Lord help you to be wise. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank you for teaching us to obey Your word through Peter. May we seek the will of God and try to stick to it. Bless the effort we take to be successful in our business and in everything we do. Let the beauty of our God be upon us and establish the work of our hands. Yes, establish the work of our hands.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
