El Roi – The God who sees me

Dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our creator, maker and our ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given us today is from the book of Deuteronomy 32:9-10, “For the Lord’s portion is His people, Jacob His allotted inheritance. In a desert land He found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded him and cared for him; He guarded him as the apple of His eye”

In this portion we see that Jacob was roaming in the desert land with no one to love and care for him. He was devastated in life. This was when God found him. The Bible tells us that after the Lord had found Jacob, He instructed and led him in the way he should go. God cared for him as the apple of His own eyes.

The bible also tells us an incident about Hagar. Hagar and her son were sent out of the house by her husband and there was no one to care for them. They were all alone in the desert. When her son was dying of thirst and hunger, God found him in the deserted land. No one came in search of her and her son. God Himself came in search of her and found her. Hagar encountered God in the desert and named Him El-Roi.  “The God who sees me.”

Dearly beloved, even now, you might be thinking as to what is going to happen to your children. Today the Lord is telling “I will find them”.  You might have shed tears at the feet of God regarding your children. Today the Lord says, “I have seen your tears and will give you an answer”. Do not be troubled my child, the Lord will take care of your children and will bring them back to you. Put your trust in the Lord and He will be with you.

God bless you.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly Father, we thank you for this blessed day. Lord, you said that you have seen the tears of your children. I pray that you may answer to all their requests and keep them happy all the days of their lives. In Jesus name we pray,

Amen.

Draw nearer to God

My  Dear  Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus  Christ our Lord.  The blessed  word  that God has  given  for  you  today  is  from the book of  Revelation 3:16  “So because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold I will spew you out of My mouth.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, in the book of Revelation John, speaks about the Seven churches namely Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos,   Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia,  and Laodicea. Among all these churches, Laodicea was the worst.    The Lord instructs John to tell the people of   Laodicea saying, “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot,  I would wish you were cold or hot.”  God warns the people saying He will withdraw his love from them if they are lukewarm and neither cold or hot.    The people of Laodicea say, they are rich and have become wealthy and have need of nothing. They did not know that they were actually wretched miserable, poor, blind, and naked. God wanted to provide them with white garments that they may be clothed. And anoint their eyes, with eye salve, that they may see.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Jesus Christ expects that men should be in earnest. But many professors of Gospel are neither hot nor cold. They are found to be indifferent in needful matters but hot and fiery in disputes about things of lesser moment. This is because of self-conceit, and self-delusion. Their thoughts were much different from the thoughts that Christ had of them. We should be careful not to cheat our own souls. Let us beg God that we may not be left to flatter and deceive ourselves.  Professors of Gospel grow proud as they become carnal and formal. They were poor really poor but they thought they were rich. They could not see their state, nor their way, nor their danger. Yet they thought they saw it. They were exposed to sin and shame. They were without a house or harbor.  For they were without God. They failed to realize that only in God the soul of man can find rest and safety.

My Dear brothers and Sisters, Christ gives good counsel, to this sinful people, and happy are those who take his counsel. One needs to part from  sin, in order to be filled with his hidden treasure.    They must receive from Christ His word and Spirit then their eyes shall be opened, to see their way, and their end. Let us pray earnestly to the Lord,  to take away our pride , prejudice, and worldly lust. Christ stands knocking at the door of the hearts of sinners. Those who open to him shall enjoy His presence. He will give fresh supply of His grace and comforts. Dear Brothers and Sisters, Christ Himself had temptations and conflicts. But he overcame them all, and was more than a conqueror. Those who experienced Christ in his trials shall also be made like Him in glory. Therefore surrender your lives to Christ.  Draw nearer to God.  He will modify your mannerism and renew your life to the ways of God. God bless you.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly  Father,  we thank You for this blessed day.  Lord thank you for your counsel.  Help us to part from sinful ways, and commit our ways unto the Lord. Let us have good spirit, to accept Christ and keep His precepts. Give us the desire to open up the door of our heart, and enjoy His presence, his grace and comforts. In Jesus name, we pray.

Amen.

Free from Captivity

Dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today, is from the book of Jeremiah 32:21-22, You brought Your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and outstretched arm, and with great terror. And You gave them this land, which You swore to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey. Canaan refers to blessings.

The people of Israel were kept as captives in Egypt. The Israelites cried out to the Lord seeking His help to be delivered. The Lord heard their cry and brought them out of Egypt to the land of blessings – Canaan (the land flowing with milk and honey). Today, the Lord is going to cause you to ‘Arise and Start’ afresh.

You might have been captive to many captivities like addiction to drugs, alcohol, pride, greed, envy, lust and much more. The book of 1 Corinthians 3:17 says, “If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple”. Your body is the temple of God, which means, God dwells in you. God cannot dwell in a place that is unclean. For God to dwell in you, you have to make yourself pure and get rid of your old sinful life. Arise and start moving towards the blessings of the Lord, leaving your old life. When you dwell in your sinful life, you will become a barricade of your own blessings. Repent and ask the Lord to cleanse you from all your sinful nature. Keep your body and mind pure, only then the Lord will be able to dwell in you.

Luke 15:10, says, “Heaven will rejoice when you repent from your sins”. When you repent, the Lord will rejoice and will be happy.  God will take away all your sins and will bless you with peace and happiness. God will forgive and make you a new creation. You will receive all the blessings that the Lord has promised to you.

God bless you.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord, You are the God who brought the people of Israel out of Egypt into the land of blessings- Canaan. Likewise, Father, I pray that You may bring out Your children from all the sinful nature that they have been caught up into. Bless them with a new start in their life. May all their thoughts and actions be pure and pleasing in Your sight Lord Jesus. In Jesus name we pray,

Amen.

The Spirit of God

My  Dear  Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus  Christ our Lord.  The blessed  word  that God has  given  for  you  today  is  from the book of  Zechariah 4:6 “Not by might nor by power, but by the spirit says, the Lord.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, From the above context we come to know that the word of the Lord came to Prophet Zechariah. He admonishes the people to return to God. “Return to Me says, the Lord of hosts. And I will return to you.” The words of Zechariah encouraged Zerubbabel saying “ Not by might nor by power but by My Spirit says, the Lord. ” The prophet’s spirit was willing to attend, but the flesh was weak. We should ask of God that Whenever God speaks to us he would awaken us and we should then stir up ourselves. The angel who talked with him awakened him as a man who is awakened out of his sleep. The angel showed to him a golden lampstand and on the stand seven lamps with seven pipes to the seven lampstands. The church represents the golden lampstand set up for enlightening this dark world. Two olive trees were seen one on each side of the candle stand from which oil flowed into the bowl without ceasing.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Zerubbabel was the governor of Judah, and he laid the foundation for the temple. He was given sanction to rebuild the temple. God brings to pass his gracious purpose concerning his church. Without any art or labour, God uses his power to enlighten the people and making holy the ministers and members of the church. The difficulty in constructing the temple is represented as a great mountain. But all difficulties shall vanish. Faith will remove mountains and make them plains. The Bible says, Every valley shall be exalted, And every mountain and hill shall be made straight. And rough places smooth. This is the work of the Lord. Nothing is too hard for Him. We must accept that which comes from the grace of God by faith for he will not forsake the work of his own hands. The Lord says, that one cannot achieve anything by human might nor through fleshly strength but by the power of the holy spirit and through divine will.

My dear Brothers and Sisters, are you trying to find a solution to your problem through your own fleshly strength or by human might. Are you struggling to find an answer to your problem through your intelligence? Are you planning to move mountains? Then you might face obstacles in your way. You might even face a great loss. Or you might experience pain and agony because of the effort you undertake, to accomplish your desires. Consider the word of God which says, “Without Me, you can do nothing.” Without the help of God, we can do nothing. Paul in his epistle says, “ I planted the seed, Apollos watered it but God gave the growth. ” So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything,  but only God who gives the growth. In a similar manner, one cannot achieve his ambitions by human effort, but only by the Holy  Spirit of God. May the Spirit of God abide with you. God bless you.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly  Father,  we thank You for this blessed day.  Lord, we understand through this passage that we need the Holy Spirit to operate in our lives. And we cannot achieve anything without the work of the Holy Spirit. Teach us not to depend upon our own strength or by might.  But to depend on the Holy Spirit. Help us to realize that we cannot achieve anything without the help of God. May we be led by the Holy Spirit. In Jesus name, we pray.

Amen.

The Healer

My  Dear  Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus  Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of  Matthew 17:17 “ O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall  I bear with you? Bring him here to  Me.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,  The above passage pictures a lesson on faith and power. This incident happened on the day after the transfiguration of Jesus Christ. Jesus and his three disciples had gone up to the mount of transfiguration. And they were coming down to rejoin the others. There was a crowd at the bottom of the mount waiting to meet Jesus. Just then a man cried out to Him. He was pleading Jesus to heal his son. He said that his son was an epileptic and suffers severely. He said to Jesus, that his son, often falls into the fire and often into the water. Mark, in his Gospel, speaks of his foaming mouth, grinding teeth rigid body and not being able to speak. Luke mentions his crying out, convulsions bruises and so on. The boy was actually demon possessed. He had an evil spirit that tried to kill him by causing him to fall into the fire and into the water.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, actually Jesus had given to his twelve disciples the power to overcome unclean spirits,   and to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of diseases. But in this particular case, the disciples could not drive out the demon. Hence the man tells Jesus very pathetically that he approached his disciples but they couldn’t cure the boy. Then Jesus answered and said the above statement.  “  O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall be with you. How long shall I bear with you?” Then Jesus moved with compassion towards the boy, rebuked the evil spirit out of his body. Immediately the boy was cured. Jesus restored him and set him free from his bondage.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,  Some of you like this boy must be suffering from such kind of bondage. You might have tried different ways and means, to overcome this bondage. But may not have succeeded. And hence you might be in a dilemma as to what you should do about it. The Bible says, then they shall call and the Lord shall hear, they shall cry, and He shall say, here I am.

Which means the  Lord is ready to answer your call. The Lord says, when they call on Me I will answer. I will be with them in trouble I will be with them and deliver them. When you have such a wonderful God, the Lord Jesus, why don’t you turn to him and be healed?  For God says,  “For I am the Lord who heals you.” Do not delay, This is the day of salvation, Or this is the time of favor. So turn to him and be healed.  God bless you.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly  Father,  we thank You for this blessed day. Lord help us to realize your power of healing. Teach us to exercise our faith in a useful manner. Give us the strength to overcome all our weaknesses. Help us to walk in wisdom. Thank you, Lord for healing us and setting us free from bondage.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.
