Dearly beloved in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord had given for you today is from the book of Psalm 84:11, “For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly”.
In the Bible, in the book of Ruth we read about a young Moabite woman called Ruth who stayed faithful to her widowed Israelite mother in law through thick and thin. She walked uprightly.
She was a woman with a difference. She clung to her mother in law Naomi and refused to return to her people. She chose to live with her mother in law, in her land with her people. She respected and cared for her mother in law. She worked hard in the field to provide food for her mother in law. Ruth proved to be a woman of integrity.
In Ruth 3:10-11, Boaz appreciates Ruth as she did not go after rich young men instead she sought Boaz for her refuge. So he promised to do anything for her. Boaz called her “Blessed are you of the Lord my daughter.”
Everything she did represented a woman of great character and God honoured her. Therefore God blessed her abundantly. As promised in Psalm 84:11, God was the sun and shield to her. He did not with hold any good thing from her. He was compassionate and merciful to her. Ezekiel 36:11 says “I will do better for you than at your beginnings”. God fulfilled this promise in the life of Ruth.
God blessed Ruth to get married to Boaz, a wealthy man as her husband and she brought forth Obed, who became the restorer of life. Thus the Lord blessed the latter days of Ruth than her beginning. He will do the same thing for you. God will be your shield and He will not withhold any good thing from you.
Prayer: Our Loving Father, Bless my children to be like Ruth and inherit her character. Give them a heart to love and respect their dear ones for what they are, irrespective of caste or creed or colour. May they be virtuous and blameless before God in all their walks of life so as to receive the blessings of God. We ask you in Jesus name. Amen.
Dearly beloved in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord had given for you today is from the book of 1 Thessalonians 5:17, “Pray without ceasing”.
Prayer is a solemn request for help addressed to God. When you hold on to God’s word and pray to Him in an earnest manner, God will answer to our prayers. I wish to share my own experience with regard to the power of prayer.
Brother Joel whom I normally call as Uncle Joel is well known to me and he has a great love towards our ministry. Her daughter’s name is Priscilla who was born to them after sixteen long years. She is a beautiful, intelligent and well learned girl. Her marriage took place in Sri Lanka and I prayed and blessed her with happy married life. She went with her husband to live in Canada.
I happened to visit USA last March . When she heard that I was in Chicago, she decided to visit me with her husband. As he was a truck driver , they couldn’t afford to fly by air ways. So they traveled nine days by truck and reached Chicago. But it was difficult for her to reach my place. So I decided to meet her at her place. I went to meet her along with my friend. She believed that if she meets me and gets prayed, then surely God would bless her.
When I met her, it pained my heart. She looked rather darkened. She had lost all the glow and charm in her face. I embraced her husband and Priscilla and prayed for them with great burden. I couldn’t bear to see her in that situation. I prayed to God saying, “Lord how could you bear to see her in this condition? Lord, You are a God of compassion. I want you to bless this dear children”. I made three requests to God. The first one was to bless her with a Government job in Canada, and receive citizen ship. Secondly God to bless her with a child as she did not have a child for three years since she had been married. Thirdly to bless her husband with a job in a company as driving a truck was quite difficult and dangerous.
I prayed very earnestly for them and having blessed them I returned to Chennai. After a month I received the news that Priscilla had secured a Government job. Twenty days later, Uncle Joel called up and said that Priscilla was pregnant. And after another twenty days, Priscilla called up and said that her husband had secured a job in a transport company. God granted all the three requests within two months.
Today are you in tears yearning for a blessing in your life. Do not be worried. Our God is a loving God. God does not want to see you suffer and cause pain to you. He wants to set you in a high position according to Isaiah 58:14, “Then you will find your joy in the LORD, and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land and to feast on the inheritance of Jacob your father. The mouth of the Lord has spoken”.
The God whom you worship is truthful. He keeps His promise. He is an unchanging God. Surely your prayers will be answered and you will be blessed.
Prayer: Our Loving Heavenly Father, I pray that my children will learn to pray sincerely and earnestly. Help them to fear God and walk in the ways of God. Make them to understand that it is their right to ask God, what they require. And may they realize that God is pleased to listen to the prayer of His children. In Jesus name we ask. Amen.
Dearly beloved in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord had given for you today is from the book of John 16:14, “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete”. As quoted in John 16:14, when we ask anything in His name, God will surely answer our prayers and will grant our requests.
In the Bible, we read about Caleb who whole heartedly followed the Lord. As soon as the people of Israel entered the land of Canaan, the man of God, Joshua distributed the land to the 12 tribes of Israel. The Levites were the people who ministered unto the Lord, in the sanctuary. So God said that the Lord Himself will be their portion. Therefore the other eleven tribes received the portion of their land.
At this time Caleb reminded Joshua that Moses had already promised to grant the land on which his feet treaded upon. Therefore Caleb chose Hebron a fertile mountainous land. He was confident that he could fight the giants Anakims that dwelt in that region and drive them out and capture the land. He had immense faith in God. Joshua the leader of Israel was pleased with Caleb, and granted him his request. Likewise God will bless you. He will grant the desires of your heart. He wants to set you high and make you honoured.
Today, you may be thinking to go to abroad or you may want to settle in a new place. For some of them, your children may be longing to go to abroad. Do not be worried. God will grant your desires. You will eat the fat of the land.
Deuteronomy 5:33 says, “Walk in obedience to all that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land which you will possess”.
God will not only make you to settle in the new place but will take care of all your needs. Every good and every perfect gift comes from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation. If you ask God, then He will bless you in a manner that your joy may be full. For it is a trivial thing for the Lord to perform a miracle for you. God will do great things for you. God bless you.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach my children to acknowledge You in all their ways and not to lean on their own understanding. Help them to seek You for their needs and increase their faith in You. Teach them to trust You at all times. Let them receive the blessings that You have in store for them. In Jesus name we ask. Amen.
Dearly beloved in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord had given for you today is from the book of Joshua 14:9, “And Moses swore on that day, saying, surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be your inheritance, and your children’s forever, because you have wholly followed the Lord my God”.
God saw the affliction of His people in Egypt, and heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters. So He came down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians. Exodus 3:8 says, “I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey.
God chose Moses to lead the people of Israel from the land of Egypt to the land of Canaan. From the land of slavery to the land flowing with milk and honey. When they reached Kadesh Barnea, Moses selected one man from each of the 12 tribes to go and explore the promised land of Canaan.
Only Joshua and Caleb amongst the 12 spies , brought good report while the others brought fearful news and made the heart of the people to melt with fear. They failed to understand the power of God who brought them out of Egypt performing supernatural miracles . Among six lakh people who followed Moses in the wilderness , it was Joshua and Caleb who whole heartedly followed the Lord.
Caleb was moving along under the leadership of Moses. Then Moses said to Caleb, “Surely the land whereon your feet have trodden shall be your inheritance, and your children’s forever, because you have wholly followed the Lord my God“. Caleb was a unique person. He was a man with a different spirit.
Moses who promised Caleb actually died before he could enter the land of Canaan. But the word of God that was spoken by Moses entered through Caleb into the land of Canaan. The word of God does not return without performing its purpose for which it was sent.
Joshua 14:13 says, “And Joshua blessed him and gave Hebron to Caleb as an inheritance as Moses had promised him”. If you whole heartedly follow the Lord, and keep his commandments, the Lord will bless you as He blessed Caleb.
Prayer :
Dear Lord, bless my children as you had blessed Caleb. Give them the heart to fear your word and whole heartedly follow you and your precepts. Give them the different spirit that Caleb had, to speak positively and follow the Lord even during difficult times. Give them the desires of their heart. In Jesus name we ask. Amen.
Dearly beloved in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord had given for you today is from the book of Psalm 115:13, “The Lord will bless them that fear the Lord both small and great”. Our Lord wants to bless you and to attain this blessing we should be blameless before God. Joshua 3:5 says, “Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you”.
In the most basic meaning of the word “holy,” “sanctify” “means to separate from the world and to consecrate or dedicate to God. So, if something is sanctified or holy, it is separated from the world and dedicated to God. 1 Thessalonians 4:7 says “For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.”God expects sanctification in our lives. He wants a change in us.
In the Bible we read about Abraham. God appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before Me, and be blameless. I will establish My covenant between Me and you.”
God changed the name of Abram and called him Abraham. God also changed the name of Abraham’s wife from Sarai to Sarah. He not only changed their names but also He expected a change in their character.
Abraham was upright before God. God blessed Abraham and Sarah to be the father and mother of nations. God blessed Abraham with a son for which he was longing for until he was hundred years of age. He was rewarded. God blessed Abraham. He will bless you also if you walk blameless before god.
God bless you.
Prayer:
Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord help my children to be blameless before God. Sanctify them Lord. Remove their old nature and revive them. Help them to walk in the ways of God. Whoever is born of God, does not sin. Therefore, keep them away from all sin and earthly desire. Remove all their weakness that prevents them from being Godly. Father, may they glorify your holy name. In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
