My dear Brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless everyone in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that God has given you for today is from the book of Psalm 119:92 , “Unless Your law had been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction”. David is one of the most well known figures in the Bible. His life was filled with much happiness and pain. The character of David is a picture for us of what happens in a Christians life as we give God a place of dominion and reign.
The life of David and Goliath teaches us an important lesson on how God can use anyone to accomplish His plan. David was brave and volunteered to fight Goliath the Philistine giant. David won the battle because he had faith and trusted the God of Israel. So the woman sang as they danced and said, Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. King Saul was very angry and the saying displeased him. King Saul was afraid of David the son of Jesse. He wondered what more can he have but the kingdom. A distressing spirit from God came upon Saul. He said, “I will pin David to the wall with it.”
Hence we see that David’s life was in danger. He was forced to live in the deep woods . He ran for his life from the hands of king Saul. Later as a king he sinned against God. As a result , the Lord caused the son of David and Bathsheba, Uriah’s widow, to be very sick and the child died.
And when he realized his sin with Bathsheba. He admitted his fault before God. He said, ” Lord hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities”. He expresses saying Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Later we see that David loved his son, Absalom. But he was killed in the battle. He faced a series of problems one after another. Again when the Amalekites attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire. They had taken the captive their wives, their sons, and their daughters. David and his men lifted up their voices and wept until they had no more power to weep. But the Bible says, David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.
How did he strengthen himself? David says, “ I will meditate on your precepts, I will delight myself in your statues. I will not forget Your word. Finally he says, “This is my comfort in my affliction, For your word has given me life.” Since He held on to God’s word He was prosperous in his life. He ruled as the King of Israel for forty years.
My dear Brothers and Sisters, How about you? You too must have been going through a terrible period of time. When one goes through tribulation, the only thing he expects is a word of comfort, from somebody. Difficulties ,loss, debts, death of a dear one cause great grief and sorrow and as a result heart grows weary. Some take alcohol, as a source of comfort, some watch movies, some engage in games and outdoor activities. Some involve in worldly pleasure to forget their worries. It may be a momentary relaxation. After few hours they again start worrying.
What does this indicate? All worldly pleasures don’t give eternal or lifelong joy or peace in your life. Our Lord Jesus said, ” In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Only Gods word can comfort you. The word of God is also known as Jesus. That’s why King David says, Unless Your law had been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. He totally depended upon God’s word. So let not your heart be troubled. No wonder the psalmist David describes God’s Word when he exclaimed, “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Hold on to God’s word.
God bless you.
Prayer :
Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord Bless my children to have a desire to love Your precepts. May they meditate upon it day and night that their days may be extended and all will be well with them. Let them not go after earthly pleasure but strengthen themselves in the love and fear of God. May they keep your word with their whole heart. In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
Dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of Isaiah 60:5, “Then you shall see and become radiant, And your heart shall swell with joy; Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you. The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you”.
God wants to make your life radiant. Therefore You must not be lukewarm. There are some who are neither cold nor hot. God does not prefer His children to live a placid life. There is a plan and purpose for your life on this Earth. You have been called to fulfill that plan and purpose. You have to set a goal in life and strive to achieve it. The Lord will make you radiant and change your heart that is weary and sorrowful. You need to rise and shine for the Lord because Your light has come. Light indicates or reveals the way to Christ. Jesus while He walked on the face of this earth along with His disciples, spoke to the people saying, “I am the light of the world, whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness.” For those in Christ are no more in the dark. This is the assurance that God gives to His children. Because the light has come upon them.
The True Light is Jesus. It is Jesus the light or else the darkness. It’s life or death. In 2 Corinthians 4:4 we read that satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.
Today be wise to choose the Light . Walk in Light , in the ways of the Lord and humble your self before God and obey the commandments of God then the glory of God will be seen upon you. God will exalt you in life.
God bless you.
Prayer:
Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord give my children the insight to know You better. To walk in the Light and not in darkness. Remove all negative thoughts and help them to acquire positive nature that would lead to light. May they inherit the wealth of the Gentiles. May the True Light shine upon them, in Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
My dear Brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given you for today is from the book of Luke 1:45, “Blessed is she who believed.”
The book of Luke begins with an illustration of a couple, “Zechariah and Elizabeth.” Zechariah was a priest during the reign of King Herod. His wife was also of the priestly family of Aaron. They were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. They were well advanced in years. Zechariah and Elizabeth had been praying for a child. But they did not have one. Now they were almost very old. They had almost forgotten their prayer request. But God remembered them. Zechariah was a priest in the temple. While He was serving as priest before God and when he was burning incense he went into the temple of the Lord. Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, “Do not be afraid, for your prayer is heard and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son. And you shall call his name John. Zechariah asked the angel, “How shall I know this? ’The Angel replied I am Gabriel who stands in the presence of God and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. Behold you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place.”
Since Zechariah was quite old he had lost hope, but Elizabeth believed that God would bless her with a child. Her faith was honored. Though God delayed in answering their request, He answered their prayers. Elizabeth was filled with the Holy spirit. Elizabeth’s full-time came for her to be delivered and she brought forth a son. For with God nothing will be impossible. When her neighbors and relatives heard how the Lord had shown mercy to her they rejoiced with her. On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child. And they would have called him by the name of his father Zechariah. But Zechariah asked for a writing tablet and wrote saying, ‘’His name is John.”All the people marveled. Immediately his mouth was opened and tongue loosened and he spoke, praising God. Zechariah was filled with the holy spirit, and prophesied saying , “ Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,. And hath raised up a horn of salvation for us. In the house of his servant David.” So the child grew and became strong in spirit. The Bible says, Commit your ways unto the Lord trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass.
My dear Brothers and Sisters, it is highly important to believe in the promises of God. When God tells something through the angel of God or the prophet of God one ought to believe in their words. One must have faith in the Lord.
Zechariah doubted so he became mute and remained speechless. But even though Elizabeth had passed the age of childbearing, she believed and therefore she conceived and brought forth a son. May the Lord increase your faith in God.
God bless you.
Prayer:
Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord may my children learn to trust in God without wavering. Increase their faith in You Lord. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. So Lord help my children to walk by faith and not by sight. In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of 2 Kings 4:32-35, “When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his couch. He went in, shut the door behind the two of them and prayed to the Lord. Then he got on the bed and lay on the boy, mouth to mouth, eyes to eyes, hands to hands. As he stretched himself out on him, the boy’s body grew warm. The boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.
In this passage we come to understand that the Shunammite woman was a wealthy, married woman. In order to honour the Prophet Elisha, she set up a guest room acknowledging him as a true prophet and holy man of God. She often constrained him to eat some food. So it was, as often as he passed by that way he used to be taken care in a good manner.
Elisha in return wanted to show some favour to her. So he called for her through his servant Gehazi, She came and stood just before him by the door. Gehazi told Elisha, that she actually had no son and her husband was rather old. So Elisha said to her, “About this time next year, you shall embrace a son” And just as he had said, the woman conceived and bore a son when the appointed time had come of which Elisha had told her. It is through the prayers of this prophet that she got a baby boy and he grew up as a lad. All of a sudden the boy developed a high temperature, and the boy passed away.
What the Shunammite woman did was amazing, She took the dead body of her son and placed it on the cot in the upper chamber which she had prepared for the prophet and even without telling her husband she ran to mount Carmel in search of Prophet Elisha. As soon as she conveyed this incident, Elisha gave a staff to his servant Gehazi, and directed him to lay it on the face of the child thinking that the child would wake up at once. But she was adamant. She refused to leave until Elisha agreed to accompany her. She knew that only the words of the prophet will perform a miracle.
Mean while Gehazi went ahead and laid the staff on the face of the child but there was neither any voice nor hearing. Elisha entered the chamber where the dead body of the boy was laid on the cot and he shut the door behind the two of them. He stretched himself out on the child and looking up to heaven he prayed earnestly. When he lay over the child the flesh of the child became warm, The Child sneezed seven times and the child opened his eyes. Elisha called for the Shunammite woman and said “’pick up your son”. She fell at his feet bowed to the ground and she picked up her son and went out cheerfully. God answered the prayer of the prophet and brought life into the boy. The Bible says, The effective fervent prayer of a righteous avails much. Elisha prayed earnestly and God heard his prayer. The Bible says, in 2 Chronicles 20:20, ” Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established. Believe his prophets and you shall prosper”. So the Shunammite woman and her son prospered because she honored the man of God the prophet
My dear brothers and sisters, God has anointed and appointed men of God, to pray for the children of God. Whenever the problem goes beyond their control people approach me for prayer. When I pray the Lord speaks words of prophecy through me by His word. They take hold of the word that proceeds out of my mouth and it turns out to be a blessing for them. I praise God for His mercies and glorify His name. Surely God will be with you in your difficult times. Do not be worried.
God bless you.
Prayer:
Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank you for appointing prophets who can pray for the people. I humble myself and thank you for using me for Your glory and helping me to be a channel of blessing to the brokenhearted. Bless everyone who have meditated your word today. Be with them and prosper them. In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
Dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of Psalms 37:4, “Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.” Today the Lord is going to answer all your requests. You may have many hidden desires in your heart, and God is going to fulfill all your desires. God promises that if you delight in Him He will give the desires of your heart. Taking delight in the Lord means, that our hearts truly long after God. In fact you should seek your happiness in God Himself. In His being, His greatness, His glory and His power.
Nehemiah says, “’The joy of the Lord is my strength.” The word delight means “to gain great pleasure, satisfaction, and happiness.’’ By reading the word of God , by singing and praising and adoring Him you receive happiness. God should always, be revered and adored. He should have our utmost respect. You should strive to adore God on a daily basis. Ecclesiastes 2:26 says, “God gives joy to a man who is good in His sight. God will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him”. So to obtain your requests you need to be good before the Lord and fear Him too at all times.
You might have prayed to the Lord and submitted your requests some months or years ago. You might have been worrying that you have not yet received a reply. Today, the Lord is going to fulfill all your desires.
While I was in prayer, God showed me a vision. I saw the requests and prayers that you had submitted at the feet of the Lord. He has categorized all your requests and desires into three files as pending file, urgent file and emergency file.
Emergency file is the file that contains requests that are very critical. Urgent file is the file that needs to be checked immediately. Pending file is the file that contains requests that God thinks that He can grant it to you when you are mature enough to handle the blessings. He will release the blessings one by one only when He knows that you will be able to retain it. I asked the Lord as to why those blessings were being withheld and delayed. God replied saying, “I will give maturity to those children who are immature, and will shower all these blessings upon them. ”
My dear brothers and sisters, the Lord will firstly grant you maturity to handle the blessings and then He will bless you. A man can delight himself in the Lord when he is content with the blessings that the Lord has blessed him with. You need to thank God for every situation in your life. Only then the Lord will be able to bless you abundantly. Your happiness is very precious to the Lord. Thank God and adore the Heavenly Father for His goodness. Amen. Praise the Lord.
God bless you.
Prayer:
Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Dear Lord my children are in need of many good things in this world. Please be merciful to them and grant them their desires. Teach them to fear, and adore you. Give them the longing to have an intimate fellowship with you. May they enjoy your presence in their life. When they follow these principles, Lord please give them the desires of their heart. In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
