My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Genesis 30:22, “And then God Remembered Rachel And listened to her and Opened her womb.”
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we understand that our God hearkens to the cry of his children and answers their request. Here in the above passage we see the anxiety of Rachel. Her sister Leah had given birth to children while she had been barren for nearly twenty six years. Rachel’s barrenness had not continued so long as either Sarah’s or Rebecca’s . Her long barrenness had probably humbled and disciplined her and cured of her former petulance.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, “ Love apples” are about the size of a nutmeg with a strong and agreeable odours and were used by the ancients as a means of promoting child bearing. Leah was Rachel’s elder sister. Leah’s son Ruben one day found in the field and brought to his mother the “’yellow apples” a mandrake very common in Palestine. With the hope of begetting a child through mandrake she requested Leah for some mandrakes. But even though she had taken mandrakes Rachel continued to be barren. Actually “God Remembered Rachel” in the best time for her, after He had taught her the lessons of dependence and patience. The selfish feeling of Rachel also died away, and the thankful Rachel rises from Elohim (The Lord Of Israel ) to Yahweh(I AM) Then God remembered Rachel and God listened to her and opened her womb.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Rachel conceived and bare a son and said, “ God hath taken away my reproach. She revealed her gratitude for the reproach of barrenness taken away. ” The birth of Joseph was after the completion of fourteen years of service of Jacob. A change came upon Rachel’s mind. It was an outcome of the higher spiritual life of Rachel who had emancipated from all such merely human devices as resorting to mandrakes. And was able to recognize her complete dependence for offspring on the sovereign grace of the covenant God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Some of you must be eagerly waiting for the gift of a child. But due to some reasons there is a delay in getting a child. So you are disappointed and depressed, you seem to be broken in heart. You have lost all hope, then on whom do you place your faith? Are you running after medical doctors, magicians and looking into horoscope instead of looking at Jesus (Yahweh) May the Lord help you to be like Rachel who after many years of testing learnt to look up to Yahweh. Rachel cried out to God Almighty and then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb. God will open your womb too if you are willing to trust Him and cry out to Him. He grants the barren woman a home. Like a joyful mother of Children. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank you for revealing to us about the anxiety and agony of Rachel who turned to God because of her barrenness. Help us to have faith in Yahweh and cry out to Him when we are in distress. Hear our cry, listen to our prayers and answer us speedily that we may glorify Your name.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Proverbs 12:25 , “Heaviness in the heart of man makes it stoop. But a good word makes it glad.”
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we understand that a kind word can make a sad heart glad. Heaviness in the heart- when it seizes a man’s spirit it depresses them and keeps them down. Or a fear and dread of adversity, or sorrow and grief on account of some calamity and distress, when it gets into a man’s heart, it sinks and bows it down that it cannot, take any pleasure or comfort in anything.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters “A terrible word troubles the heart of a just man. But a good word makes it glad.” A comforting, cheering, and encouraging word often consoles their distressed state and this lifts up the heart and inspires it with joy. What is the cheapest and easiest gift that you can give others? It is to give a kind word away. It can make a sad heart glad. Such love will not cost you anything. Cheer a heavy heart, you can be kind. Pronounce complementary, encouraging words of truth to do it. We are to love one another. Words spoken in love can be very healthful.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Now a days, we find most men are too selfish and preoccupied with their own lives, to notice others, and most often they do not have the affection and concern to say, something, kind and helpful. They are too lazy to consider another person, and do something about it. A person with a heavy heart, carries burdens. It is a soul pressed down by cares, circumstances, and troubles. A book of the Bible describes Job’s three self righteous friends who did not have a good word to gladden his heavy heart. Instead they joined together in accusing him of hypocrisy. No wonder he called them miserable comforters.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, how do you speak to others? Do you comfort others while you speak with others.? Or do you hurt others by words? The scripture admonishes us to be careful when we converse with others. Are you kind and gentle or rude with others? Think about yourselves. May be until today, you did not think on these lines. But in future think before you speak to others. God says, “ A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another as I have loved you.” The Bible says, “The tongue of the wise promotes health. The truthful lip shall be established forever.”Pleasant words are like honeycomb.” A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold, in settings of silver.”God’s children should be the happiest people on the earth. Sometimes great men get cast down. But they are not overwhelmed. May God encourage you to speak words of comfort to others. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord teach us to speak properly with others. To be kind and gentle. Help us to comfort others with words of encouragement. Never to be rude or unkind. May we be quick to listen but slow to speak. Prepare our hearts to love one another. Teach us to be happy in all circumstances, in times of sorrow and joy.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
Dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of 1 Kings 1:48, “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who has allowed my eyes to see a successor on my throne today”. King David says these words during the last days of his life. With a grateful heart, he thanked God for anointing his son Solomon to be the King.
Today, the Lord wants to talk to you through this Biblical illustration. God says, “You will see with your own eyes that your children are being blessed”. You might be suffering from a lot of health issues and might be worried as to what may happen to your children’s life. The Lord has a blessed word for you my dear child- “You will see your children being blessed and inherit the blessings. You will see them getting settled in life in a good position”.
King David had to face a lot of battles in his life. But God did not bring an end to his life. He extended his life and blessed him to see his son being anointed as King. King David thanked God with great satisfaction. Today, the Lord will perform a miracle for you and your children. Not a word that comes out of the mouth of God will fail. The Lord will fulfill all the promises that He has made to you and your children.
Until yesterday, your children might have attended many interviews but have not made it through. You might have also tried out many methods to improve your business but might have failed. Today the Lord says, “This is the day that I am going to make you sit on the throne that I have made for you ”. The Lord is going to make your children inherit the blessings He has set aside for them.
The book of James 1:17 says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows”. God says any good and perfect gift comes from the Lord. This is the day that you / your children will receive such gifts.
God bless you.
Prayer:
Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord, You are the God of all goodness. I pray that You may break all the hindrances that have befallen Your children to receive Your blessings. I pray that You may fulfill all the promises that You have made to them. Enable Your children to inherit the throne of blessings that You have set aside for them. In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Proverbs 17:22, “A cheerful heart is good medicine but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we realize how important it is to be cheerful and have a Merry Heart. There is a healing effect when we are joyful, and cheerful people. We read in today’s Proverb that a joyful heart is good medicine. We need to be glad, happy or joyful. The idea behind this word is that someone is choosing to rejoice, to consider the good that God has done, rather than the misery and the opportunity to be sad and depressed. That is why we need to seek to maintain a joyful heart.
My Dear Brother and Sister, But a crushed spirit dries up the bones. This kind of broken spirit will, dry up the bones. This is a horrible condition because our bones are not only our main source of strength and stability but they are also the place where our blood is produced. And without our bones we will surely die in short order. We read in the Bible about the Birth of Jesus Christ. Then the angel said to the shepherds who were tending their sheep, “Do not be afraid, for behold I will bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.” We need to hear good news to encourage ourselves and lead a happy life. Cheerfulness of spirit has a great influence upon the body. And contributes much to the health and welfare of it. The Bible says, enjoy life while you have it. Eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart. Live all the days, of your life which He has given you under the sun. So we need to have especially a heart full of spiritual joy and peace of conscience for the weariness of heart also affects, the outward man. A merry heart makes a good medicine. It raises the spirits invigorates the body and fits for service and business.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, thus we need to have a cheerful heart to maintain a healthy body. Avoid being angry or have negative thoughts in your mind. Undo all bitterness if any, from your heart and let there be peace and serenity instead. A healthy mind is necessary to have a healthy body. To attain peace you must inherit the grace of God. The Bible is filled with verses that can bring peace in the middle of struggles, worries, and fear. Our world if full of violence, conflict and turmoil. But God promises his people a peace that surpasses all understanding which will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank you Lord for helping us to understand the need to have a merry heart. Teach us to avoid vain thoughts or hoard bitterness in our hearts. Help us to inherit the nature of godliness, kindness, charity and love.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Matthew 7:11, ” If you then being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your father which in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we do understand, that in the midst of all our evil, there is still that element of natural and pure affection. Which makes the father hood of men a fit parable of the Fatherhood of God. As all mankind in general, are both by nature and practice, they are conceived in sin, shapen in iniquity, are evil from their youth, they are corrupt and do abominable things. But the Bible says, even such people know how to give good gifts, to their children. They give their best to their children though it costs them much.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, When these evil parents can afford to give good gifts to their children, how much more shall your Father who is omniscient and omnipotent knows your need and will bless you with His choicest blessings.
The Bible says, God gives all good things to them that ask him. The context shows that the “good things” are spiritual gifts. The wisdom, and insight which we all need or rather the one gift of the holy spirit. Not only temporal gifts, as meat, drink and clothing but all spiritual good things, every supply of grace, all things, pertaining, to life and godliness. Spiritual gifts include grace, everything that is necessary for the spiritual and eternal good of his people. But to receive these gifts one must inquire of and seek after, and ask God for them. For every one who asks receives, the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks the door will be opened.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, God expects us to ask him when we are in need. He says, “Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask and you will receive that your joy may be complete.” He further urges us to ask by saying, “Whatever you ask in My name, This I will do. That the Father may be glorified in the son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” Also we need to believe that if we ask God in prayer, we will receive it and it will be granted to us. May the Lord help you to ask Him when you are in need. David in his Psalms says, “To You all flesh will come, For you hear prayer.” God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. We thank you because you hear our prayer. Teach us to ask you when we are in need of help. Thank you for the gifts that you have bestowed upon us, both spiritual and temporal. Though we are sinful in nature, yet you consider us and guide us in the way we should go. Bless us Lord , with Your Divine Spirit that we live in tune with God.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
