Jesus Heals The Man With Infirmity. - Bro. T. Stephen

My  Dear   Brother  and  Sister in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Creator, Maker, and ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has   given   for you today is from the book of  John 5:5,6 “ Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.  When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had  already   been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”

My   Dear   Brother  And   Sister,   from the above context we see how Jesus met a man who was  lying there for thirty eight years.  Knowing his pitiable state Jesus went near him and asked him if he wanted to be made well.  Jesus  pities   his case; he asks   him if he was willing to be made whole. Jesus knew  that the poor man lay there for that very purpose; but He wanted him to  declare his miserable, helpless state and condition, and draw out his faith and hope in himself; and from his answer Jesus decided  to  take an occasion to heal him. Jesus knew that he had been “in his disease” for a long period of time. Bible commentators say that he was sick seven years before Jesus was born. Jesus realised  that he  had lived many years, and was now an old man; Jesus took pity on him because he realized that he had been in that state for a very,  very long period  and he needed immediate deliverance.  So he said unto him, ““Do you want to be made well?”

My Dear Brother and Sister, He was lying by the pool of Bethesda, in Jerusalem. There were many lying around the pool for healing. There was something special in that pool. Every day an angel would descend, into pool and stir the water. While the water is stirred someone who gets into the pool will get healed. But there was no one to lift him up and dip him into the pool,  while the   angel  stirred the water.  When Jesus   asked him if he wanted to get well then he said, that before he could get in,    someone else gets into the pool and so he couldn’t get healed.  The man was lying there helplessly waiting for deliverance  for nearly thirty eight years. Usually one suffers from disease because of their sin and sinful nature. This man was one such person who because of his sin was unable to move, from his hip to his feet. And so he was unable to walk. If he had been able to walk he could have easily dipped into the pool, when the water was stirred. Yet he never lost his hope in life. He remained patiently,  hoping  that one day he will  get healed.

My Dear BrotherAnd Sister,  The man believed that one day God will forgive all his sins and heal him of all his disease. Then he will be able to run,  walk and carry out his work. He hoped that God will give him another opportunity to live.  As he believed, Jesus Himself came in search of him one day. When Jesus asked him if he wanted to get healed he replied that he was willing to be healed. But he also  said, that  before he could get into the pool, someone else   would get into the pool,  when the angel  stirred  the water. Jesus looked up to him and said, “Arise take up your bed and walk.”The Bible says, immediately the man got healed. So he took up his bed and walked   away. Jesus did not talk to him about his sin or his sinful nature. Jesus forgave his sins and healed him. He had suffered enough and he needed deliverance instantly. So Jesus healed him. Are you  sick and suffering then wait upon God He will heal you. But before being healed, you need to get rid of all your evil habits and sinful activities that stands as an obstruction to your  healing and blessing.  Reconcile with God immediately and you shall receive healing. God Bless you.

Prayer:  Our  loving  heavenly  Father,  We    thank   You   for  this  blessed day. Lord thank for  being so merciful and gracious  to the man with infirmity. Thank You Lord for taking pity on him and healing him  immediately. Heal us also of our disease  and forgive us of our sins. May we repent of our sinful nature and reconcile with God.

In Jesus Name We Pray.

Amen.
